I like Portland Swifts for a team name. Named after the Vaux's Swifts that roost in the Chapman School chimney every fall.

Have you ever seen that? Impressive.I like Portland Swifts for a team name. Named after the Vaux's Swifts that roost in the Chapman School chimney every fall.

I went to grade school there. Even though we occasionally used that incinerator, I believe we shut it down during the swallow season. You'll pardon me if my memory is fuzzy, after all some in here think that part of my past was in the Jurassic period.
Edit: Oops, make that swifts not swallows.
I go watch it every year. I think it would be pretty cool to name the team after that. It would fit baseball as well.Have you ever seen that? Impressive.

Read what I said in the other thread about someone feAhhh, I see you swift but not swallow.
Here's some trivia for you, I use to live 2 1/2 blocks away.I go watch it every year. I think it would be pretty cool to name the team after that. It would fit baseball as well.
How about Portland Rednecks?Portland Bluebacks.

I’m assuming from this pic, it’s at the PPS building. One of the locations they're looking at -- the original name for this location/concept was the Winter Garden:

That's primo property. I can also forsee many traffic jams in that location. They'd have to build a super road connecting to I-5 and I-84 and nnother super road to I-405 and Hwy 26.One of the locations they're looking at -- the original name for this location/concept was the Winter Garden:

Indeed it is!I’m assuming from this pic, it’s at the PPS building.
senior discounts!I am looking forward to seeing their preliminary plans.
However, I am not looking forward to the strong possibility that IF this happens, it won't be for probably 5 more years at a minimum.

Ugh... Just reroute Interstate Avenue and put it on the ruver...One of the locations they're looking at -- the original name for this location/concept was the Winter Garden:

So never?what happens first, Portland wins an NBA title, or Portland gets a MLB team?
Trick question, the answer is the same.
Just as long as we don't have Blazers and baseball games at the same time, it'd be fine right? That's primo property. I can also forsee many traffic jams in that location. They'd have to build a super road connecting to I-5 and I-84 and nnother super road to I-405 and Hwy 26.

True.Well, if they both have games in June and October, it would be awesome.
Is it water activated?Mike Barrett says that their architects have come up with a retractable roof design unlike anything we've ever seen before.

Our very own Harry Carey. Can Rice sing? No? Perfect.Mike Barrett and Mike Rice for Portland Baseball TV Crew! What could be better? Baseball is slow enough that you can just give Uncle Mike three drinks and let him go. The stories would be amazing. Heck, bring Schonz in to tell stories about his baseball years in the 60's. What better way to establish the franchise than with old folks and stories.

I was hoping for next year.I am looking forward to seeing their preliminary plans.

I worked with an electrical engineer from OIT at Tektronix. The kid was really good. Went from technician to engineer in one fell swoop (whatever that means).
Honestly why would you think it would be any sooner than that? If they broke ground on a stadium this summer it would be at least the 2021 season that the stadium would be ready. Since the stadium situation would probably be a year or longer before it gets resolved I think 5 years is a pretty reasonable best case time frame.I am looking forward to seeing their preliminary plans.
