Most people that don't know Portland well think of logging
The ones I've talked anyway
Portland Lagers would have a pretty cool double connotation.

Never happen, but its cleverPortland Lagers would have a pretty cool double connotation.
Because we were almost named Boston?Portland Lagers would have a pretty cool double connotation.
An addict will drive a few miles
An addict will find a way to feed their addiction.
Like keeping food out of a refrigerator for a food addict. They will just drive to taco bell
Not to mention the billion video poker machines and countless stores to play sports action within the city limits already
Sorry, I don't want my kid working in a casino ever. Especially for beans.
It's like you and @Boob-No-More forgot we voted measure 82 DOWN with over 71% of the vote. We said no to "The Grange". Portlanders by an overwhelming majority don't want a private casino inside of city limits. Nor did we want to amend our constitution to do it.
How's that high schoolish? I can think of 1.HS I'm Vancouver that has alliteration with the mascot. To me it's high schoolish. If it works fine, but that shouldn't be a consideration, IMO.
MLB has 4
NFL has 4
NBA has 5
NHL has 4
How many people know what an Oriole is? Ospreys are a pretty widespread bird.Portland Meadowlarks 'sounds' better than Portland Chinooks (which sounds terrible to my ears) or Portland Osprey (there are going to be a lot of people in other parts of the country who don't even know what the hell that is).
Meadowlarks just don't seem original as there are bird names in MLB already. Id be ok with it though.Portland Meadowlarks 'sounds' better than Portland Chinooks (which sounds terrible to my ears) or Portland Osprey (there are going to be a lot of people in other parts of the country who don't even know what the hell that is).
Don't get the blue. Portland's city flag is green and yellow; why change it?

Meadowlarks? That's terrible haha. That's just a corny word in general.
A lot of names are abstract though. I dont tha k itd be an issue.Nationally, I guarantee you many, many more people know what an oriole is. They are a common bird east of the Mississippi. Osprey, are not. In fact, the Baltimore Oriole is a sub-species. We had them in the trees in our yard when I was a kid growing up in Indiana. Never saw an Osprey until I moved to Oregon.

I hate the color scheme.

Aside from Homer, this is the best thing posted thus far. (That Pioneers thing is crap!)I really like this color combo:

Please note, I am not advocating for a casino now. I was, however, in favor of the casino for baseball stadium deal proposed by the Grand Ronde tribe back in 2003.
When the company you work for, the largest private employer in the state, lays off 14,000 people in the span of 18 months and you directly see the impact on the local economy, well, any port in a storm and all that. And it wasn't just those 14,000, it was also all the smaller companies that supported the industry that also laid off many of their workers, too. Many of the smaller companies went out of business. The ripple effect was tangible. I had many friends and neighbors who were out of work for over 18 months, with unemployment benefits that ran out after 6 months. The construction jobs alone to support both projects would have been huge at a time when the local economy was truly in the shitter.
That, was 2003, not 2012 and Measure 82 was about privately owned casinos, not tribal casinos. Different times, different circumstances.

I like the breakers but it would be better as the Oregon Breakers. There are no breakers in portland we got that name form boston when they moved out here?My choice aside from the Mavericks:
