So are the Oakland A’s just content with being a farm system for all of the MLB?

I’m kind of confused on why that team hasn’t been sold off?

but then again they’ve easily had more success than the Mariners in the last 20 years

Maybe if an MLB team comes to Portland (stop laughing), the Blazers might actually be forced to give a shit about fans.

(seriously, stop laughing)

Guess they needed to sell a few more hats and T-shirts, so had to throw out some quotes to a media member willing to listen.

I think it starts with electing smarter people to run the city. Tough love is sorely needed.

Meh... Folks who have never been homeless can't stop this crisis. Why do we depend on politicians who have no experience helping the homeless.

It's like having someone institute drug policy who never smoked weed. Get them the fuck away from office if you ask me.

I'm a massive baseball fan and try to be optimistic about getting a team..

But god damn, this is nothing but a grift at this point. It's so sad.

Wtf u want them to do? They got their shit ready but MLB isn’t making any actions happen..

Shouldn't they be responsible for bringing in subject matter experts though? It's like the President. Many of them don't have any experience with the military, so they rely on the Secretary of Defense or the Joint Chiefs. This is why they also have cabinet members in their respective fields.

So I would expect our local politicians to bring in the right people to handle this kind of thing.

I heard Barrett talking about baseball in a recent interview and I believe he mentioned parking and land rights as hanging up MLB team being jumpstarted in Portland. He didn't sound optimistic, more like they've tried everything they can think of to solve the problem and it's still a problem.

Maybe if they added 15 pounds of muscle during the off season.

The city needs those parking spots to gouge $4000 for rent in a studio apartment.

Honestly it's either gotta go west in Hillsboro or close in east. Not out to like Wood Village. Nothing past 148th. You get too far east no one is gonna wanna drive that far. East or west. Hillsboro and the west end of Gresham.
You do realize a large amount of people live east of the Willamette river right? There is also a couple people who live north of Portland in a place called Vancouver. There is also this interesting little nook called Clackamas County that might have some interest?

Yep. Took all that into account since I have lived in all those areas. :)

Anything else?

Thought maybe that might be somebody is all beings you said “Nobody” would drive that far? It’s like 6 miles from my house.

Which is why 148th would be a great compromise, no? That was the whole point of it my friend. :)

If it’s not really close to downtown it’s a huge fail. Nobody wants to go to Fucking Hillsboro or Gresham or wilsonville for a MLB game. It needs to go near Moda or fairly close to it. Figure out the freeway stuff and make it a legit experience
