I think a better example would be
38 year old pitcher called up from the minors for the last game of the season and it gets rained out
it was never going to happen
YesSo basically Portland is the Archibald Graham of expansion chances?
It takes a billionaire that wants baseball in Portlandand a fucking government that wants baseball in Portland to make it happen.Man! Doom & Gloom in here. It takes vision to have hope. We have the vision. It takes Belief in the vision to keep the hope alive. And it takes a group willing to invest in that vision to see that it gets done. The Diamond Project Group has it all. Minor Leagues, is great for small towns, but Portland is over that. Bring The Show to Portland. The Crowds , and the support, will be Off the Chain.

Mike Barrett said the current City Government is on board. He was on Rip City Radio just the other day. He also said they have the group with the means to get it done.It takes a billionaire that wants baseball in Portlandand a fucking government that wants baseball in Portland to make it happen.
Okay Eeyore, your turn.Mike Barrett said the current City Government is on board. He was on Rip City Radio just the other day. He also said they have the group with the means to get it done.

Watching the city burn and engulfed in tear gas for months on Fox News night after night pretty much killed any chance this city has in the near future.Okay Eeyore, your turn.
No. They need a government that is at Manfreds door demanding baseball. They need an owner at Manfreds door tell him he wants baseball in PortlandMike Barrett said the current City Government is on board. He was on Rip City Radio just the other day. I just don’t see it?
Yes there certainly are a number of nattering nabobs of negativism out there on this subject!Man! Doom & Gloom in here. It takes vision to have hope. We have the vision. Go talk to pretty much anyone who lives east of Mt Hood to New York City and say that. If they do not live in Portland and don’t visit regularly this is still what they think the city is.That was years ago

Keep up the good fight. I'm doing the same. No need for Portland to keep paying the price forever.I do. I tell them that was years ago and they say usually just say “true” lol
We can thank FUX News for their personal "War On Portland" diatribe for that. I have seen a lot of tourist magazine articles that have been favorable of late, which is good for a change.Go talk to pretty much anyone who lives east of Mt Hood to New York City and say that. Whenever I would travel to the east coast, mid west, or south years ago, people would ask does it really rain that much in Oregon, and we hear its a beautiful State we'd like to visit some time. This was before cable and internet crazies. Back then the national media wasn't as polarizing and lined up politically. They seemed to offset any negativity, with something good, which I'd like to see us get back too. But we are teaching youngsters to take sides, and take no prisoners instead.I think some of the issue is that the problems that Portland has (and did a horrible job of sticking up for itself), was evident in other cities just as bad, but people watch the news with their heads crammed firmly in the sand.
So when people who don't even live in the region (or hell, the state) saw footage of Portland being "overrun" by homeless and protestors, they were allowed to ignore their own warts and be critical of Portland instead. Made them feel powerful and like they were doing something.
Hell, we have a thread on this forum that displays that mindset to a T.
This guy says it improves his sex life? Portlanders must be very sexual.I agree that my mood on MLB to PDX is pretty sour at this point but after so many years of being kicked in the balls, at some point you start to expect another boot to come along and connect with the testicles.
They should name it Tropicana Field and just build a complete POS like they have in Tampa Bay. Sister stadiums.Looks like the A's have agreed on a place to develop their ballpark in Vegas. The Tropicana property right off the strip as long as the public financing is approved. One domino down. Hopefully PDX is lined up for expansion.

The A's should just put up some rickety bleachers with a box for the announcers. Add some Vegas Showgirls to update the score , like they announce the rounds in boxing. On the cheap, of course. Kinda like the circus, under the big top. Bring back the A's elephant. They should name it Tropicana Field and just build a complete POS like they have in Tampa Bay. Sister stadiums.
Why in the fuck are we still talking about this?
I mean, we also sit here talking about bringing a championship to Portland, so...Why in the fuck are we still talking about this?
