You guys know CTC is a busy ass mall that does extremely well right?

Everytime I go there I have a hard time finding parking. Washington square mall even more popular.

The owners just suck is all that is going on. They’ll lose the mall, it’ll go on auction and the next owners will buy it pennys off the dollar and make a killing. Thats it.

Trapani Town Center does have a nice ring to it. I'll send you some pennies so you can bid on it.

Brookfield is a huge outfit. They might suck in many ways, but they definitely aren't novices (or short on money).

The only way they lose the mall is if they intend to.

I'd guess what's going on here is that they are either (a) playing some variety of hardball with the lenders, or (b) waiting to see if all the anchor tenants withdraw, in which case it might make sense to bail. Or both.

Its probably similar to how Paul Allen had to claim he couldn't pay for the team, was about to sell it and then magically, he found money in his couch and paid for things again.

To be fair, Paul had a very large couch, it was easy for him to lose things.

In fact, it's where JD Vance spent his teenage years.

Wrong.

Ctc is not Lloyd center lol
I own two rentals within walking distance to CTC. If you think for a second I don't know the dynamics of the area you are very wrong. If they lose another Anchor tenant they are through. After this last shooting nobody is going there not to mention online shopping has decimated the revenue. No it's not Lloyd Center. It's going down faster. Macy's will be the next to go. They are already shutting down Tannisbornne and Salem. Just a matter of time and not renewing the lease will just make things fall faster.

There’s no such thing as anchor tenants with those prices malls charge anymore. I agree that in the old model anchor tenants were lifelines for these malls.

Look at Washington square mall for example who recently announced they are at full capacity and are about to turn I believe a vacate sears? into a village type low density residential area.. some malls in perfect situations are doing extremely well.

Clackamas Town Center owner defaults on $191M debt as anchor-tenant leases loom

No anchor tenants huh? Really?

Was at CTC over the holidays and stopped in to my favorite store there Legends Memorabilia and they are closing down soon. Said the mall was charging a crazy amount. They use to be on the lower level next to (I think Macys) but then got shuttled upstairs into the corner by Dicks but the problem is Dicks doesn't have a 2nd floor, so there is zero reason to walk by the storefront unless you park in the garage or are purposely going to Legends. Sucks because me and my dad have spent some good $ in that store and be sad to lose them, even if they go mostly online like the rest of the memorabilia shops are. It did get me a really good deal on a few items though.

I remember going there as a small kid. Probably around 1990. A fight broke out between two female figure skaters. To this day I wonder if one of them was Tanya Harding.

Everybody in the mall was looking down at it like a Mexican looking at a hot piece of ass.

I always forget that both CTC and Lloyd had skating rinks ... bruised up some body parts on that ice and played some fun broom ball as well! Pretty sure all of us that were around PDX in that era have a Tanya Harding story!

Back in the day, my brother would go to one of the country bars (I never went, as I didn't like country music).

He once told me she would show up every so often and once asked him to dance. He declined and she, as he said, went " white trash" on him.

That's how I spin it when I get rejected, too. It just feels better that way.

Don't tell the wife. She thinks she can tame this animal, but I'm just too wild.

Was at CTC yesterday, and lo-and-behold, their parking lot was at best 45% full.
