Can we have a banana ball team instead of an MLB team? I’d rather pay to go see the Savanah Bananas live.
I think we should try to start a Pacific division of the Japanese Baseball League.
Portland, Vancouver BC, Sacramento (if the A's actually go to Vegas), San Diego, and Honolulu.
Get something signed, then build the stadium.
If Portland ends up getting an MLB team, then our JBL team can relocate to someplace like Boise.
At the very least we should start talking about something like this with the JBL, it might force MLB to give Portland a more firm commitment about when we could get a team.
At the same time we should see about getting a Canadian Football team franchise.

Our bet is when they finish. They still have not announced financing for this so you shouldn't get excited by a couple of holes.

No. Our bet was whether they would build the stadium or not.

Putting a stadium on THE Las Vegas Strip, one of the world's most valuable and famous streets, with a 3rd rate-failing casino and a notoriously cheap owner is difficult.
This is far from a done deal.
Not saying that MLB won't someday be in Vegas, but I'll bet you $50 the As will not make that 2028 opening day.
So you're on for the $50?
I am.

"After reaching agreements with the Las Vegas Stadium Authority on lease, non-relocation, development and community benefits in December, the A’s expect to break ground on their $1.75 billion, 33,000-seat stadium -- which is designed by Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) and HNTB -- at some point during the second quarter of 2025, likely June. That would put the project on track to be completed in time for the A’s to move in by 2028 Opening Day following their temporary relocation to Sutter Health Park in West Sacramento for the next three seasons."
I'll go $25 with you and $25 with tlong.
You're on.
No, that's not the bet at all, lol.
You’re going to lose.
At least I know what I'm betting on, lol.

You’ll still lose.
What does have to do with this topic
The parents of the owner of the A's own The Gap. His wealth is based on the value of The Gap. John Fisher has still not put together a financial package to build the stadium, and now it's getting much more difficult.
That’s what I thought
This and there is another issue. The tariffs will cause the cost of building any type of stadium to continue to rise at an accelerated pace. No costs or expenses can be set and actual completion dates are all in question because companies are having a hard time scheduling anything. The parents of the owner of the A's own The Gap.
