The days of 45K sized stadiums is probably dead.

Look at the NBA. There are something 66% of the league that has a small capacity than the RG.

I think the NBA and MLB are realizing that the answer isn't more seats.

Only 7 teams average more than 35K, and of those 7 teams, 2 are in NY, 1 in each LA, San Diego, Chicago, Philadelphia and Atlanta.
