OT Mobile Phone Plans

So, I'm tired of getting shafted by Verizon and am thinking of switching to T Mobile's unlimited plan ($70 per month for two lines for folks over 55). Anyone have experience with them here in the Portland area? Any suggestions for other providers?

I've got 5 lines for $120 per month at Cricket which is owned by ATT. 9gigs a month high speed, unlimited slower speeds. Got my parents and mom in law on it. No complaints, no added fees.

Just checked their plans and for two people T Mobile looks like a better deal. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Verizon and AT&T are the only major carriers where I live. After raping people without lubrication for the last 10 years because they hold a tag-team monopoly, there is starting to be a mass migration to Straight Talk. I switched a few years back. $45 a month for unlimited talk/text and 12g of data. Can pay $55 for unlimited data. You can switch any phone from any carrier to their service also. It used to be a shittier prepaid carrier but they have stepped their shit up. Even yuppies who wouldnt be caught dead with a prepaid are switching over. Fuck Verizon and ATT.

I tried T Mobile for data on my boat last year. The problem is, the small little blocks that define roaming or not. Once there had me roaming even a little, they cut off data access for the rest of the month. I think I had to drop it in 2 days. Coverage for T Mobile is poor for use on the all over the West Coast.

I use Verizon prepaid plans for data for USB modem. 6GB of data for 60 days at $60. This then allows the ships phone to work VOIP via Netalk.
Then the cell phone is a Tracfone running about $11 buck a month. The UML290 USB modem with two external antenna connected really does work everywhere within range of land. I was blacked out off Big Sur for about 12 hours, I expect I will be when off Cascade Head for about 8 hours next week.

I intend to try the UML290 connected to a Yagi TV antenna on one of the ports. I expect it will work everywhere off the West Coast withing 30 miles of land. It really does haul in the TV signals. Where I was getting in Bandon harbor, zero station via standard 50-60 mile external antennas, the Yagi hauled in 9 stations from Coos Bay and I guess Roseburg.

I've never had a cell phone...my wife has one but it doesn't work at our location..she takes it to work in case I need to call her..I've used Skype for most communication with family and friends all over the planet for awhile now...love it. I can talk with my relatives overseas like they're in my living room..awesome technology and all I need is internet

I use the Netalk when out with the MarAzul mostly. Working the cell phone down to near nothing. Hope to get to where 60 minutes a year works.
