With your current medical condition you really need to get one. Preferably a different mobile network than your wife. You need to have a phone on you at all times just in case of a medical emergency.
won't work at my house....I have a transmitter phone on my life vest to send any emergency to the hospital.even that I have to go down the hill to transmit..or landline for 911 if necessary. 911 is available immediately through the land line....I can't drive for at least a month as is..the nurse who trained me for my life vest couldn't get a signal anywhere on my property..it is what it is

You're not going to drive anywhere the next 6 months?

see how the jumpstart takes and how the muscle tissue in the upper chamber strengthens....I'm not going to be the guy who passes out on the road and takes out a mini van full of kids at the same time....seen that happen before around here.

I have sprint with iPhone X’s and unlimited everything it’s about 120 a month. I didn’t do any price shopping, I’m not sure if my wife did either. Reception is most of the time “ok”. I wouldn’t recommend them, but I like it better than when we had AT & T.

This is true. Press home your truth.

yes....I do...but absolutely no cell phone package will work up here...all my neighbors go a mile down the mountain to use cell phone.....I also have a land line...we have a cell phone when we're in the car...my wife keeps it...my life vest has a transmitter that also needs to have a hotspot...my internet is through my landline....not satelite

Here we have liberals in full dress, displaying their ignorance.
They take great pleasure in chiding the conservative for using the social programs that are enacted into law in this country.
Even though you do not support the enactment, you must pay for it all the same once it becomes law. Thereby your are also
forced to use it because you are left with no alternative.
See the chuckles above. Liberals gloating.

Ha! I first met Sly about 11 or 12 years ago. He claimed to be a conservative at every chance he had. Never once stood up and was counted though.

ah, here it is again. All liberals bad and all conservatives are great right marzy? lol I crack up everytime I read a post like this. :biglaugh::smack:

We have about ten family members on a Ting plan and it is close to 200 per month.. We only pay for what we use.

@riverman I was all set to come get you a phone working but no need, hey!

I sort of chucked about the guy making fun of my phone set up on MarAzul. Hell I have better phone connection than everyone that comes aboard.
Need some special stuff to get around some of the areas in Washington that force everything to local. You have to redial all your calls when in that area and
if you want internet, you have to buy it local. I can now just by pass them and connect to the next town in most cases. Anyway, glad you don't need anything.

I appreciate it Marz…..I'm not going to be far from a phone anytime soon...pretty much confined to the cabin. My wife and son call me from work and check in...worst case scenario is I have to dial 911....my ekg and heart charts improved today...on a 4 week recuperation plan...no need to go far..land line works even when the power is out

With your current medical condition, I'd strongly consider moving.

still works...even with the power out

We could if you needed, have backup plan to get Verizon on a battery powered PC with antennas to pull in Verizon with a USB modem for sure. Then
Voip for phones service too. Covered if you lose the land line and power.:cool2:

I like this!

So, I'm tired of getting shafted by Verizon and am thinking of switching to T Mobile's unlimited plan ($70 per month for two lines for folks over 55). Anyone have experience with them here in the Portland area? Any suggestions for other providers?

I fucking hated TMobile.

So long story short...switched to TMobile from AT&T because a change in my plan kicked me from my awesome unlimited plan. TMobile seemed great but there was no freaking service anywhere! And the connections were always suspect, terrible reception. It was the oddest thing. Couldn't stream ESPN or Netflix or anything like that around town with data. My friend loves TMobile, but I just don't think he knows any different.

Verizon works well for me; it just costs so damn much.
