OT Mobile Phone Plans

So long story short...switched to TMobile from AT&T because a change in my plan kicked me from my awesome unlimited plan. TMobile seemed great but there was no freaking service anywhere! And the connections were always suspect, terrible reception. It was the oddest thing. Couldn't stream ESPN or Netflix or anything like that around town with data. My friend loves TMobile, but I just don't think he knows any different.

Verizon works well for me; it just costs so damn much.

How long ago was this? It looks to me like they’ve upgraded the network quite a bit in the past couple of years, and if the merger with Sprint goes through that should make it even better.

It's probably been two years now. The merger might've helped. It also could've just be where I live. I live in Overlook in North Portland, perhaps there are no nearby towers or whatever. I just know going from AT&T to TMobile was next level frustrating...

So, I'm tired of getting shafted by Verizon and am thinking of switching to T Mobile's unlimited plan ($70 per month for two lines for folks over 55). Anyone have experience with them here in the Portland area? Any suggestions for other providers?

I just got my first smart phone back in May through Verizon while I was having my computer worked on. The old slide-out phone I had finally stopped charging, and I needed a new one.

Now I have an LG K20V. I love it. I will NEVER go back to another flip-up/slide-out phone in my life. My mother is now officially the last hold-out for FU/SO phones. She wants a new phone, but knows fuck all about electronics, and she needs an IPhone because she uses an IPad at home with all of her stuff on it. So my father has to drag her to a store to do it, whenever he gets a minute to do it.

That being said.....God, this shit is expensive. The slide-out phone I had was $43/month (IIRC), which was a total robbery. My last bill for this K20 was $73.

Perhaps I should have shopped around to different carriers..... :(

That's why I use Verizon, good coverage everywhere. I've called my mom in Gearhart, Oregon from Mt. Hood and the top of the Empire State building.

Are you King Kong?
