Rumor Moving to Portland for an NBA season

Tough for most of us to comment on this as Oregon is one of the few states that doesn't have sales tax, so that's not an issue that many of us have to deal with. That said...

I would say that there are many US chain restaurants that have locations in many different states, so the tax percentage differs for each one. When they're creating menus that are intended to be uniform nationwide, to try to factor in tax for all those different states would be impossible. Now for restaurants that don't have multiple locations, that's obviously not a concern, but I think the former outnumber the latter.

Further more, importing, exporting is not just a state tax issue, but a county and local as well. For example. My company is located in oregon. Ifthe customer comes in and picks up thier product in thier own vehicle, we charge no tax. If the customer sends in a truck and it delivers to the company outside of oregon, then we hqave to charge tax. If I schedule the shipping to a customer, in certtain states, we charge the tax based on the county requirements on top of the states. Its complex and try to stay out of it and just let our accountant know I paid so and so and shipped to so and so this way and let them figure out what applicable taxes must be added.

Friday 5ish?

I just gave Gary Trent Jr a ride. Nicest NBA player I drove this year. Great guy. We had a great conversation. He loved playing in that last game of the regular season.

Probably cant get there until closer to 6. MYbe 530

Darn, I can't go I don't get off work till 9. That's too long of a bus ride at that time of night I'd be stuck in Portland! Have fun to whom ever goes to make it out that night!
