Actually, I won't be able to do that. So much stuff to do before I fly out. I'll come back to Portland again someday and we'll do it then.Probably cant get there until closer to 6. MYbe 530
Friday 5ish?
I just gave Gary Trent Jr a ride. Nicest NBA player I drove this year. Great guy. We had a great conversation. He loved playing in that last game of the regular season.
It looks as if you will be there alone. Is Jack's open this Friday?
If so I will be there!

You always have jack to drink your sorrows away with. Not the first time.
Not the last.

Eric (@KingSpeed),
I just want to say I have truly enjoyed doing the podcast with you. Thank you for sharing that with me. Also getting to know you as a person. Your a good dude. Very down to Earth. I am honored and grateful to be able to count you as a friend.
What an amazing season you picked to come stay here. You may be a lucky charm for the Blazers. Your optimism has been a beacon. You believed in the team till the end and beyond it. You are a true fan.
Come back soon man
Thanks Chris. It's been great doing the podcast and playing basketball. You're a good friend. We should let people know that I came back from 1-3 to beat Chris in a series of basketball one on one. Then I came back from 1-2 to win 4-2. But finally, Chris beat me 4-3 and then we played one game to 21 for all the marbles and Chris won. The man can shoot. Three pointers, drives, floaters, he has it all. We had quite a shootout the last time we played. Next season, I'll try to come to Portland for a game or two and I'll look forward to seeing you then.Eric (@KingSpeed),

Dude- a building just opened in my neighborhood a couple years ago and outside, it was advertised that ONE BEDROOMS started at $11 million. My husband and I are lucky. He's had our apartment since the 1970s and it's rent controlled. If it wasn't rent controlled, it would cost about $3500/month but we only pay $970/month and we're right in Manhattan on the best block in midtown.

Rent is crazy, especially the closer you get to the city. A guy at work is paying 2.5k a month for a 2 bedroom 800 square foot apartment. I actually like Portland, but I literally pay half that for a house thats more than 2x his apartment... Im not sure how people afford to live off minimum wage jobs and even “lower” wage jobs. This is what we need in Portland RIGHT NOW.
My rent here is well over $1300...
My mortgage is about the same amount as yours. And I expect the value of my house to increase further with minimum wage increases.Rent is crazy, especially the closer you get to the city. We bought this house for 210k, last time I looked on Zillow they had it at 300k, were doing about 140k work of work on it in August adding another bathroom, remodeling the current bathroom, adding another bedroom, and expanding the kitchen. Not sure what'll be worth after that, buying definitely is good! Housing in Cornelius is going up, but it's not going up "as" fast as places closer to Portland. My mortgage is about the same amount as yours. I bought my house in Newberg close to George Fox University. Housing is good at the moment with low rates. Everything will increase with minimum wage increases. It has been good to me. Oregon is one of the worst for income as a percentage of housing cost.

Well, were building out because frankly we bought a house thinking it was small but it was cozy and big enough for a small family. With a 4th showing up literally sometime in the next month or so, we decided to go the route of expanding the house instead of moving.Unfortunately, you will likely not get even a 50% return on the money spent.
We bought our home for 510k. We added new carpet, paint, trim, vynl flooring. Added a master bedroom walk in closet, new presidential roof, new hardy-plank siding, new gutters aNd exterior paint. Added an eave over the back patio.
Oh and we turned the unfinished basement into a one bedroom apt.
We spent 140k to do this. Just had an appraisal. 529k.
I was devastated.....
