El-P and Killer Mike put out a free album today. I've only listened through it a few times now, so I'm not sure which track I like best. The whole thing is pretty grimy. This one had the most views on youtube, so I went with it.

I never would have thought they'd click, but between this and R.A.P. Music, they clearly have some serious chemistry. Oh, on this El-P raps too, unlike R.A.P. Music, which he mostly just produced.

My pops caught Zappa back in the day... I caught Zappa Plays Zappa, which was Dweezil's reincarnation of his father's music... not the same of course, but the crowd was into it the same way, and it still felt like it was a Frank Zappa show... more so than seeing the actual Bob Dylan try to sing his songs in his present state...

Anyway, my vid is from one of the biggest musical geniuses of the modern era. He's so under-appreicated for his solo works that I think he'll be like a painter whose works only become valuable when he dies, but here is John Frusciante's "Ramparts" -

Tame Impala has caught some steam in the US, but I've grown to like this offspring, called Pond. Well, really this is some solo stuff from Pond's frontman (Tame Impala's bassist), but it sets a feel for Pond's material, juxtaposed to Tame Imapala's

Amazing how some things never change. This could have been written yesterday, but it's nearly 50 years old.

Great, great song...

It's funny, everyone from my generation (mid 20's) misattributes that song to guys like Bob Dylan, just like they do with Zager and Evans' "In the Year 2525."

But yeah, just as true now as it was then...

Out of all the versions of this traditional Irish song that I've heard (Thin Lizzy included), this is probably the most memorable for me...

Also, out of all of Metallica's catalogue, this might be my favorite song by them. There are about 20-30 songs by Metallica that I really dig, and it might seem like a slight to them, or like I don't know my Metallica, or the history of this song for that matter, but I just think they killed it on this cover -

The greatest band in the history of rock music is back at it... they just threw out six new B-sides today... some good stuff...

Ugh, RHCP is such a shitty, shitty band. Actually, thy're a great band with the worst frontman of all time. Every song has potential, but they all devolve into poorly-sung gibberish.

Just fyi.

Born Sinner >>>>>>>>>>> Magna Carta Holy Grail >>>>>>>> Yeezus

Cole is straight fire. So many good songs on his new album

I love both those bands! Pond has been around for a while. Tame impala sounds like John Lennon.
