Good stuff man, not really digging the guy's voice, but it's not like it's annoying or anything, and it doesn't take anything away from the track. What's the rest of their stuff like? Seems like a band that could probably go one of two ways with the rest of their catalogue based on this this track.

I've been listening to a lot of Kevin Parker stuff recently, like Tame Impala, Pond, and Melody's Echo Chamber. The latest album I listened to was the Melody's Echo Chamber, and it's a pretty damn solid album (probably would be boring if Parker hadn't had his fingerprints all over it though). This track I'm posting isn't necessarily one of the more accessible tracks from the album, but for whatever reason it's the lead single. It took me a listen or two to really get hooked on it, opposed to some of the other albums tracks, but now I can't get it out of my head. So in that sense, it's really a true "flavor of the month" for me... the guitar at the end really saves the track progression as well -

Apparently I've been sleeping on Andrew Bird. In my head, I hear his name and think of Andrew WK, which is why I've never given him a chance.

I'm into hearing about the "coudla beens" in basketball, because growing up in the AAU circuit, I've seen my fair share. There are some guys though like Lenny Cooke (who has a movie out about his fall from glory) and Demetrius "Hook" Mitchell that really exemplify the "what-if's."

With that said, I just found a clip of Hook set to one of my favorite songs, "T.R.O.Y." by Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth, so I figured I'd post it. Most of the scenes are from Hook's prison -

Getting back to great/famous covers, how could I forget Hound Dog. I LOVE Big Mama Thornton's original, but obviously Elvis' version is what most people know and love.

I just looked her up on wiki. I never knew this song had huge commercial success (7 weeks at #1 for R& B charts and 2 million copies sold). I just have her first album, Big Mama Thornton in Europe, which is great. Apparently her 2nd album was with the Muddy Waters band. I'll have to keep an eye out for that one.
