I really like Benson's solo stuff, "Alternative to Love" is a fantastic album. Benson brings the power pop and the harmonies to the Raconteurs. The other members, Jack Lawrence and Patrick Keeler, came from another great blues/rock band The Greenhornes. I was really excited when The Raconteurs were announced back in 2005, but disappointed by their debut album. Not that it was bad, but I really loved Benson's solo stuff, The White Stripes and the Greenhornes. The Raconteurs aren't bad, but the music isn't nearly as great as what each individual member has done on their own. Jack White has covered both bands, even before they teamed up for the Raconteurs.

He's been around for ages, but one of my all-time favorite musicians has once again found a spark. Paul Weller's Wake Up The Nation is his best work in a decade.

first ever song I heard from his solo work. I had that guitar tune stuck in my head for months. To Record Only Water for 10 Days got almost as much play as Californication in my time. Now I know what I will be listening to at work today thanks! :pimp:
