This is possibly the most fun opera I've ever heard. It's called Flash Mob: The Opera and takes place in a London subway station. I saw it on cable about 15 or 20 years ago. It was about 45 minutes to an hour long and spine tingling it was so good. It's a series of Arias taken from world famous operas set to a fictitious story set in England about a made up story. The words to the music have all been converted to English and reflect this new story.
I copied it on a DVD recorder and have it someplace.
Anyhow, here's a five minute preview of what it's all about.

I thought you people liked music and yet none of you like opera. You don't even seem to like symphony. What gives. Are you 100% beer drinkers? Not even a sip or two of a good wine?
There's beauty in things other than beer, the old lady, cigarettes and modern rock.

I love classical music and symphony music. Opera not so much. That said, here's what I was listening to today...
