Olynyk has signed with the Wasserman Media Group and will be represented by Arn Tellum. The same agent as Brandon Roy, Lamarcus Aldridge, Derrick Rose, Russell Westbrook, Al Horford, Joe Johnson.....and on and on.

Lets just say, he has an eye for talent ;)

The Gasol bros, Brook Lopez, Kobe's first agent, Reggie Miller, Jermain O'Neal.....

And Jan Vessely, Xavier Henry, Vladimir Radmonovic, Jon Brockman, etc.

The guy's just a big time agent... don't think there's really much of an "eye for talent" involved.

The good players he represents far outweigh the bad.

I'm buying what your selling, Mick. Let's get Olynyk and sign Jermaine O'Neal to smooth over the growing pains. Olynyk looks like he could be an All Star from what I've read.

Nothing against Kelly Olynyk, but this is a super weak draft and him now being regarded as a 10 ten player in it is proof. It's sad. You'd think with the 10th pick you'd be able to get a guy that has a solid chance of being a starter in this league. But instead we've got a 19 page thread about whether or not this guy is even good enough to be an NBA player.

Back on topic, it really bothers me that he didn't play more. Deep down in my bones it makes me feel like there's something really wrong with a guy if he can't play most of the game in college. At the very least it worries me that he simply doesn't have the stamina it takes to be a professional athlete.

Now people are just trolling...

I doubt he will have stamina issues. He is a hard worker and puts the time in to improve his game.

I just don't think he is very talented (and by that, I mean, by NBA standards - athletically) and he struggled against better athletes.

Not that great an athlete and will struggle to rebound and defend at the next level. Will his offensive skills translate to the NBA? I'm inclined to think he is the second coming of the 'Stache in that regard.

I hope the team doesn't have tunnel vision about drafting big. We need a center - but no one available at #10 is likely to be wothwhile in that department. (including Olynyk) The team needs to go BPA, and that will likely be a small man. McCollum, Carter-Williams and even this Pope kid have a better chance at an NBA future than someone like Olynyk.

were Olynyk's minutes limited b/c of rotation, or injury, or just that they had blowouts?

Wasn't the same said about Kevin Love? He wasn't athletic and wouldn't translate to the NBA, yet he's one of the leagues best rebounders, can score, and has a good passing game.
I'm not making an argument for Olynyk - never seen him play. But I was convinced that Love would be garbage based on what everyone was saying about him, so I guess I'm not going to write Olynyk off just because of a lack of athleticism. Talent and intelligence trumps athleticism.

Kevin Love is an "elite" shooter and "elite" rebounder who never really struggled against good defenders like Olynyk. Olynyk gets his shot blocked frequently by athletic people.

He may be a decent or serviceable NBA player but he wont make LMA expendable like Zags says.

Okay - like I said, I have absolutely zero knowledge of college players past or present. The criticisms were just reminding me of another player who many thought wouldn't translate.

I know. I was just informing you that Olynyk is not near the player Kevin Love was at that stage (Kevin was a freshman, also)

I think his ceiling is a Scola type.

Who brought up Love?

Blue9, a couple posts above.

I think his offense and shooting touch is a bit deeper than Scola, but he isn't nearly as physical and doubt he'll handle the physicality and athleticism of the NBA very well. He doesn't have the fundamentals to rebound like Love, doesn't have the toughness to defend like Scola (ask Lamarcus about that), and probably doesn't have the footwork to be a low post scorer like Z-Bo.

I don't know who exactly to compare him to, don't see many players like him in the league (primarily why I'm not sold on him.) He can shoot the 3 ball a little bit, but he'll get TORCHED on defense, and (hate to harp on it) but will probably get his shot blocked frequently when he tries to mix it up in the post. I think he'll do OK rebounding though.

Anthony Davis played 28.8 minutes a game to KO's 26.5. The Zags seemed to play with more movement than what the NBA will throw at him. I think he will be fine in this department.

Mud is over and it was good. Does Papag have mod powers now or am I being trolled?

Can anyone explain this?

6'9.75" wingspan
6'10.75" height
9'0" standing reach

9'0" standing reach is good. Sounds like some fudged up a measurement.
