BRADLEY BEAL??
You take the worst season Beal has had in like 6 years, and don't is a whopping .002 ahead of him in his best year. Cool. That provides nothing of substance.

If our big plan is Jerami Grant I’d rather just use the Pels pick on Sochan, trade our pick, gain asset(s) and draft Eason.

Hope Eason / Sochan battle it out in camp and emerge with 1/2 decent big athletic dudes who actually play defense and just maybe… they both work out and you’ve got Eason a 3/4 and Sochan a 4/5. Then use assets and free agency (lol) and unbalanced trades on just getting the best talent at the 3/4/5 spots

id give it serious consideration, depending on who is/isn't available at 7.

It's all just castles in the clouds, but if even the Knicks can see that a player in the 6-8 range is more valuable than Randle, maybe we should listen!

So now he is chucking even more at 40% to get to his 17 ppg. Okay, that's not exactly a good thing. Tremendous defender for sure.

Not particularly high on Randle but he's a player that might thrive in Portland because he wouldn't draw nearly the defensive attention with Dame, Ant and Nurk on the court as he attracts with the Knicks. He'd have a lot of open space and I think he could shoot a much higher percentage. He also strikes me as a loose cannon, though.

Agree. Big difference between being the primary scoring option versus, likely, a third option in Portland.

I’d be a little concerned about the fit with Nurkic and Randle, but that’s a trade I’d probably do. Unless Sharpe is there, not sure there’s any reason to stay that high if you get a former all star and just move back a few spots, even for Griffin or Mathurin imo. I’d consider doing that trade and drafting both Eason and Sochan.

_____/Little/Sochan
Randle/Eason/Watford/Brown III

and you’d still have the TPE to make something happen at starting SF.

Dame/Dunn
Simons/Hart/Johnson

set at guards. You can bring back Dunn as a third playmaker who plays spot minutes for the min and run Ant at backup PG.

If you sign Jalen Smith with the MLE and draft a C at 36, that’s a complete team.

Nurkic/Smith/#36

If Sharpe is available to us, I’d have to think about it a little harder. But I still think I’d do it.

Bobby Portis.
After him, I guess I would like Portis.
If we couldn't get him, I would settle for Bobby Portis, and if all else fails, I would be interested in Bobby Portis.
(Jerami Grant just does NOT do anything for me..I think he would be a massive mistake, no real educated reasons why, just think he is overrated)

And a pipedream. The gymnastics needed to open up max caproom is not easy.

I've been trying to work out the math for my offseason primer.

So far, I have:

Dame 42.492
Bledsoe 3.9
Ingles
Hart
Nurk
Simons

Nas 4.171
Winslow 4.097
Keon 2.668
Didi 1.876
Brown 1.563
Watford 1.563
#6 pick 5.962
#11 pick 3.757

That's 10 guaranteed contracts (including Bledsoe's 3.9) totaling about 72 mil. That opens about 49.9 mil capspace

-You retain Hart as well, that's 13 mil added to 72. Meaning about 37 mil space. Enough for a max.
-You retain Hart/Nurk/Simons, that's 43 mil added. Meaning about 7.2 mil space.

Unless you get some sort of S&T magic worked out with Bledsoe's contract and a pick or some esoteric cap machination that I can't figure out, acquiring Bridges in FA and still retaining our existing FA talent is an impossibility.

Bridges would have to be a sign and trade.

I'd much rather have Mikal over Miles.
Phoenix was smart to sign Mikal to a reasonable contract.
Mikal will not be available. But the guy who plays behind him and at times next to him has been my target for a while now: Cam Johnson. No way in hell Sarver pays him.

His defensive metrics are stellar and he's a knockdown shooter.

There's no chance in hell Phoenix would let him go, but I think the perfect player would be Mikal Bridges. Also, he and Dame are super close.

In a perfect world Phoenix flames out in the playoffs, they decide to give Ayton a huge contract still (and wants to cut some salary), and we trade #3 or #4 (and #11?) for Mikal Bridges. This lineup would be small, but extremely well rounded. If we get a top three picks and could flip it to Phoenix, and could still make the Jerami Grant trade, I think we'd be in title contention with this rotation.

Lillard
Simons/Hart
Bridges/Little
Grant/Winslow
Nurkic

I really don't see why the team with the best record in the league would get rid of one of their young starters unless his play alone lost them their first round series against a team that would have to be the Clippers if your scenario is even possible.

I agree. But Sarver has been cheap historically. What other team wouldn't give Ayton a max immediately?

not getting mikal. he could be dpoty

And Bridges/Nurk are both Klutch guys.

Charlotte was always one of my projected Nurk destinations. I would not be unhappy with a lineup of:

Dame/Simons/Little/Bridges/Turner with another lottery pick and Hart coming off the bench.

FIFY.

I would be ECSTATIC with a lineup of: Dame/Simons/Little/Bridges/Turner with another lottery pick and Hart (and Winslow) coming off the bench.

Adding Dort, Boucher, Grant and someone at #6 to Dame, Ant, Little, Hart, Nurk and Jackson is interesting. Still have some cap space and Joe Ingles salary or talents. Need to pick up a big that’s better than Eubanks.

Also Harrison “Fucking” Barnes? Interesting name

Jalen smith

Such a strange string of events to get him to where he is now contract wise. I'd like one of either him or Bamba here. It might even be possible to do both, and I think you could get both for less than what Grant's extension would be. Also think, you would get more production out of them, and they are both younger.

They're just trolling us about the last trade. They call up, ask "thanks for Gary - how's Norm working out for ya, eh?" and then hang up.

"Also, thanks for taking the bullet on Damon. Glad we didn't give him that max contract lol"
