if they hadn't tanked they might have a 12th or 13th pick. 7 is a lot better than that
So throwing away the last 30 games of the season was worth it because we got the 7th pick? Is there someone available at that pick that you think is going to turn this around? Please do share!

How do we turn Nurk and #7 into Ayton?

How do we turn TPE and future 1s into Grant?

To the Anti-Tank folks. Look, guys who spend a few 1000 a year on Season Tickets I totally get the rage at tanking. Totally get it.

Guys, who watch at home on illegal free streams? You should be pro-tanking. It clearly works which is why so many BILLIONS of dollars worth of teams have done it every year for decades now. Or maybe you know better than people paid millions to be experts right? LOL.
A few? Think again. I can see you sit at home and watch on illegal free streams.
Lets hope for the best. It's all we can do now. Hopefully the Blazers stay injury free next year and they put together a good team that competes and gives Chauncey a good run. This summer ain't over yet.

I don’t give a shit if Duren cant shoot 3s, at 18 he looks like a fucking body builder and has hops. Last young guy I saw that looked like that at 18 was Dwight. Dude is gonna bully people in the paint and not throw up weak shit layups from 2 feet out.
I agree on Duren. He maay end up being one of the best in this draft. Got all the attributes.

IMO it's Ogbaji.

It was the right play to make especially when assuming we were going to have a late lotto pick as well. If we didn't tank but made the same trades, we would have either made the playoffs and been swept out of the first round or ended up with the 12th pick. Those are both worse situations than where we find ourselves right now. The 7th pick is not the payoff anyone was hoping for when going through that brutal tank but it was still the right way to play the hand that we had at the time.

We had a shot at Adebayo. He was built like a man coming out but many didn't think he was worthy as a top ten pick.

Well 7 is better than whatever pick we would have gotten after getting swept in the first round lol.

LOL..."throwing away"....Those games were meaningless and they became meaningless when Dame went out

and I'm not so dumb that I would expect any single transaction, trade or draft pick, to alter the trajectory

We could have but we took the kid from Zaga.

We could have had both John Collins and OG Anunoby.

Hell if you go back to 2013, we could've had Giannis playing with Dame.

Well that does it for the only excitement we were gonna get for this season.
Lets see what next year holds.
Have fun looks like Keegan Murray but if it was me picking on draft day it would be
Ochai Ogbaji with the 7th pick and i would keep him and not trade him away for Grant.
I think Murray could be gone Detroit or Indy.
Sochan one hell of a defender and good size. He could surprise like Adebayo?

Exactly. It's gonna be multiple moves over the next 2 years to shape this team. Doesn't mean after the moves they do this year, along with a healthy Dame, and further development of Ant & Nas, it can't be a successful , and potentially special season.

Probably Indy

I hope Dame stays for it

This is what I see happening just based on what I've read. I think we will trade 7 for 13 and 15. I think we will trade 13 to the Pistons for Grant and I think we might even get fleeced into adding the Bucks 2025 first. I think we'll take Dieng with the 15th pick and our front office will celebrate like we pulled off some kind of miracle.

I agree and I really like BlazerKor's idea of trading down to the Spurs for #9 and #25 and trading #25 and Bucks 2025 to Detroit for Grant. I think we can get Duren at #9 and then S&T Nurk to a team that needs a Center for a wing defender. I forgot Grizz have Adams now so scratch them.

to be honest I dont believe in this draft there is a huge difference between 7&12th picks.

Oh really? What trade was that from again that Neil fucked up on?

The Chicago/Cleveland trade that got us Nance Jr for a couple months.

Bam is a playmaker and the Heat often run the offense through him.

Duren is athletic, but is closer to James Wiseman than Bam.

I agree completely about Duren. He's the rim protector we need.

I actually compare Sochan closer to Bam than Duren but both are studs.
