Hello Omaha and Kansas City. Both have beautiful arenas and are in the middle of the country.

Because of the health system situation i think such a virus is even more dangerous in US. In Europe more and more competitions deciding to play behind closed doors and in some cases games have been cancelled.

that would be such a stupid idea. i can't believe they let that get out.
You think? You don't think cities with no covid concerns and no NBA teams would flock to a local arena to see real live NBA regular season games in person?

No, the idea of flying in teams full of players/media/staff from cities with corona to cities without it. That's public health stupidity.

Aren't there already commercial flights likely coming into those cities from cities with corona concerns? I haven't read, for example, any indication that Sea-Tac is shutting down flights to other areas of the country.

Airport is one thing. Exposure at the arenas/hotels/restaurants is quite another.

The people presently arriving daily on commercial flights aren't using hotels and restaurants?

Think this is pedantic and shortsighted to think that there won't be increased exposure if you're flying in ~100 player and staff from NY into a city where it doesn't exist. This will only expedite the chance of spreading in that new city.

They're already flying teams from cities with corona outbreaks into other NBA cities without them; and vice versa. Are you advocating for that practice to be halted as well?

I would like a version of what China did. Maybe not to that extreme, but given how far behind leadership has been in controlling this (w/ regards to healthcare and diagnoses), more drastic measures are required. I think games should be canceled or played at PFs if we have to.

While I may not agree with your viewpoint, I appreciate your consistency.

Every industry is impacted. Flights ARE getting cancelled, schools are sending kids home, restaurants are losing business, marathons are getting postponed, nearly every local government is banning gatherings with large crowds. Why should the NBA be exempt from this?

They won't be exempt. They will be impacted. There probably will be games relocated/unattended/canceled. Doesn't mean the NBA shouldn't examine all possibilities.

The nba has been prepping us for a week now that they will have behind closed door games

i really want to see Luka next week too

Well, there it is. The Bay Area has more confirmed cases than Portland, but I wouldn't be surprised to see tomorrow's game with the Grizzlies played in an empty arena.

I would. Warriors not playing in front of fans wasn’t really the NBAs decision.

why even play in the arena? set up cameras at the practice facilities. Fewer people, cheaper to run probably.
