NBA to have ads on unis by 17-18 season.....

I don't personally like the idea, but it isn't really that big of a deal. It is still basketball, and I'll still enjoy watching the best players on the planet play.

"I'm lovin' it!"

"What I'm lovin!"

Or, since Portland has legal weed, "What I'm smokin!"........with a cannabis leaf on the jersey corner.

Wow. I grew up watching the Lakers and Sixers and Celtics battle it out on TV with a basketball in my hands with hoop posters on my wall. Then at halftime and as soon as the game ended ran outside and played the game till it got dark. I am a fan of the game, pure and simple. They could wear garbage bags and I'd still watch. To each his own huh?
The NBA was better when players played physical defence though. I guess everyone nowadays just wants to see great offense, high percentage shots and high scoring as apposed to great physical hard nosed defense. Nobody really plays great defense anymore in the NBA.

I don't like the idea of it because I hate advertising as a whole but this will have virtually no effect on me, so I don't really care. It's certainly not any worse than the constant advertisements during Blazers broadcasts.

Soccer can't really compare to this because as someone pointed out above, they only play commercials at halftime, so you get an entire uninterrupted game to watch, which makes Soccer so enjoyable to watch. I used to hate watching Soccer and when the Timbers came I gave it a shot, I have grown to love watch the game,, but more so because I don't have to slog through 50 commercials on my way to a 3-hour+ game.

Basketball and Football are fucking jokes when it comes to advertisements. Games are so long, so many interruptions it's insane; and now more marketing bullshit down our throats? Bleh, poor taste is all. It won't hurt the game, but poor taste.

Yea that's how it starts. I don't want to buy a fucking Jersey with Ads on it. Nor do I want to see Ads while I'm watching the game, there is already enough commercials.

Wait. So the ones the fans buy will have ads on it too? OKay thats simply unacceptable.. So if I want to support Dame I also have to support Pepsi? FUCK THAT!!

Its a huge deal if us as fans are forced to supp[ort those brands when we purchase NBA swag... fuck that.,

I personally don't see it being that big of a deal. I don't care what they put on the uniforms. I watch our Blazers play basketball for entertainment and they did one hell of a job surprising me this season. Go Blazers!

I've ordered LP broadband the past three years, and every year it has gone up substantially per team. And nothing has been done to address the farce that is NBA TV. Why the fuck do they black that shit out when it's on your own damn network? Regardless, if jersey ads can mean prices for LP don't go up and it reduces dumbass blackout rules, all for it.
Yeah nbatv games blacked out on league pass is dumb Af. It makes sense because I understand they want people to subscribe to that channel too. But I still think it's pretty dumb,.

That's the whole reason I'll never buy a Timbers jersey.

The umpires in the Australian Football League are sponsored by OPSM.... a prescription glasses company.

Marketing genius.

Every Blazer broadcast they show HCP's highlight video with music he selected.

Then MB talks about what a great job everyone on Blazer Broadcasting does while showing a live shot of the back of everyone's head inside of the broadcast truck.

MB starts telling everyone's name and then suddenly HCP runs out from the snack bar at the back of the truck to try to get into the camera shot.

If the Blazers were smart that's who they should put the ads on. HCP is big enough he could hold more ads than a Nascar race car.
