What are you hearing though? That will get a reaction... lol
This move would allow the Blazers to get out of McCollum’s enormous contract and if they decide to keep Lillard and try and contend, this move gives them flexible and the opportunity to go out and add impactful free agents and they would still be able to remain competitive this year.
if they decide to keep Lillard
As long as people continue to convince themselves that Kuzma is a good player, stuff like this will continue to be propagated.I am amazed that someone took time to write this article. What a waste.
Your take is certainly not new.Teams getting better... Blazers staying the same. What's new?

If D’Angelo Russell ends up in Minnesota before Thursday’s trade deadline, Andrew Wiggins will be heading to the Warriors. Multiple league sources say Wiggins is involved in every iteration of a deal being discussed between the two teams. Wiggins has the best contract on the Wolves to match salaries with Russell, and his career could be re-energized in Golden State. It might be the greatest heat check of the year if the Warriors trade for such a notoriously inconsistent player who’s owed $94.7 million through 2022-23.
Thing is, if you're the Warriors, don't you think that Wiggins is a better fit with Steph/Klay/Dray than Whiteside is?Not unimaginable for Wiggins to have a similar impact here.

Whiteside is not going there to play. He's an expiring contract salary filler. Think they'd rather get multiple picks in return for Russell and an outside shot at capspace this summer, instead of Wiggins. The article said they want an unprotected 2021 pick from Minny in exchange for taking Wiggins, I believe they'd ease their demands on those picks if they were getting an expiring instead.Thing is, if you're the Warriors, don't you think that Wiggins is a better fit with Steph/Klay/Dray than Whiteside is?
Right now Spotrac is showing $145M in salaries for them next year. Even if they offloaded DLo for nothing, how are they coming by any meaningful amount of capspace?Whiteside is not going there to play. He's an expiring contract salary filler. I mentioned outside shot, but ya, it would take more maneuvering. Would at least create more flexibility for a team that is just coming away from being hardcapped.Right now Spotrac is showing $145M in salaries for them next year. Definitely the kind of move i could see Olshey making.Stop the Presses:
Atlanta is going to waive Chandler Parsons.
Neil went after him for loads of dough.
He can be had for vet min.
He's our SFotF!
Neil, get 'er done!
The big driver for all this is tax savings. Did a similar kinda move last year.
Their new owner is super cheap. His reprimand of Morey about the Hong Kong/China stuff was appalling. And he's letting D'Antoni coach as a lame duck. Dude doesn't realize it costs money to run a successful NBA franchise, clearly.
