Sheesh, now theyre saying Napier and Vonleh going to DEN

they got a first for two guys they won't be able to pay in FA, and they also got KBD

ok then...makes a little more sense...but...right now they are scheduled to be 32M under the tax line, with only Plumlee and Craig to re-sign. But maybe they didn't have much interest in re-signing the players they traded

Rockets trade: Capela, Nene, Green and own 1st for Robert Covington, Bell, 2nd rounder (from ?)
Hawks trade: Evan Turner, Brooklyn pick for Capela and Nene
Timberwolves trade: Covington, Bates-Diop, Bell for Beasley, J. Hernangomez, Brooklyn pick
Nuggets trade: Beasley, Hernangomez for Bates-Diop, Green, Houston pick

and:

Vonleh and Napier to Denver, Vanderbilt to Minnesota

portland...maybe in a few years

good for shabazz and Noah. they are now in a winning organization and a chance to go deep in the playoffs. always liked shabazz...

Houston got worse. Rest are meh

now that the details are complete, it may be that Denver actually got better. Beasley and Hernangomez are fairly meh. And Vernderbilt is a scrub. With Napier and Vonleh, Denver replaces what they sent out but they needed another big with Plumlee out till maybe March. Vonleh is a journeyman but he is averaging 12 & 12 per36 and Napier can run point

I like what Denver did. All indications were that they did not feel they could resign Beasley, so they went out a got something without taking on any bad contracts... That's a good concept!

Neil will use the 4 game win streak as his excuse for inactivity... it’s a scary thought after reality set in tonight that if Dame doesn’t score 50 this team is in trouble

We have a trade

Minny now has:
Crabbe
Turner
Napier
Vonleh
Layman

and Vanterpool

...pretty sure the Blazers would have won in Denver tonight if the Denver players involved in the trade were benched :devilwink:

Daryl Morey will make a phone call to Neil asking about Whiteside and getting some thoughts about a 3rd team.

Need to find a replacement for Simons right now he’s not playable. CJ isn’t really a point guard either but he’s the only internal option. But Simons can’t be in the rotation any more.

If we were building a contender this season I'd be 100% onboard with using Ant to upgrade the bench before the deadline. However, since we are highly unlikely to be winning anything this year, I only think you move him if you can get value, which I doubt at this moment.

If we could get on a deal with the Pistons for Rose that would be awesome. A three way to help facilitate them moving Drummond.

Jeremy Lin might be available.

I didn’t mean trade Simons, just bench.

DeMarre Carroll would be fine with trade exception I guess but the cost would be too high considering luxury tax.

Could significantly reduce the tax implications if you trade Mario & Caleb for him (would require separate trades).

Carroll -> into Baze TPE (temp 16th roster spot)
Caleb -> into Carroll's TPE (& then cut)
Mario -> into remaining Carroll's TPE

net change would add $3m of salary (~8 including tax)

I like this, and we'd open up a roster spot to use our Hood DPE on for a buyout guy.
