Nothing to rationalize really for me really. I didn't expect Brogdon or Grant to get moved at trade deadline when they will get more for them in the offseason.tell yourself whatever you want to to rationalize this
Really? I think for the first time in years we have a REAL direction.the lack of direction from this franchise is baffling. whatever. as i said after the sharpe news this week... "i'm numb to it all." Just apathy.
Have we seen Joe make a bold move yet? The Dame trade and subsequent trades don't count he didn't have a choice which may have been by his own design. The guy is the Machiavelli of doing nothing. I feel like he's the protagonist from Office Space but he's running our team and isn't funny.Surely more opportunities in the off season to acquire picks/players via trades. Besides that when we move Simons and some.
Still not sure why the Pacers let Buddy go if they're trying to get better...
"We like the guys we have on the team, our young players need veteran leadership and the vets we have are great leaders. I'm really happy with the direction we're headed." As all of us wonder what direction that is and if he's asked what direction we're headed all we'll hear is a bunch of word salad.
yes, an injury prone guard who led his team to 25 wins, entering the final year of his contract will be worth more as an expiring than he is after his 10 game showcase where he averaged borderline all star numbers.Nothing to rationalize really for me really. I didn't expect Brogdon or Grant to get moved at trade deadline when they will get more for them in the offseason.
Brogdon or Ant to any playoff team that would benefit from adding a competent guard. Orlando had long been my preference. So what trade was Joe supposed to make, that he didn't?

oh another fun one on this forum. this deadline is olshey's fault too.I really want to see the Cronin ass kissers make an excuse for this cause that will be as entertaining as when Cronin says later / tonight ... there were just no deals to be had etc etc ( BS BS BS )
You didn't hear about Giannis for a protected 2nd round pick? I can't believe Cronin passed! So what trade was Joe supposed to make, that he didn't?
This, so much this! People said Joe would be selling low for just 2 seconds for Brogdon yet now they are pissed he wasn't moved. So what trade was Joe supposed to make, that he didn't?

Yes, I understand that since Orlando didn't actually trade for a guard, we don't know what they would have offered for one. Still, I believe that a competent GM would have been able to negotiate a decent deal.
It's okay to have a couple, in fact it's ideal. We're the 3rd youngest team in the league.but this roster needs vets! we can't have any more 60 point losses!
He's an asset that can be part of a bigger pkg. Not stressing over it...Simons will be the odd man out come offseason, just my opinion.yes, an injury prone guard who led his team to 25 wins, entering the final year of his contract will be worth more as an expiring than he is after his 10 game showcase where he averaged borderline all star numbers.

This question drives me nuts. It's the most preposterous defense for Joe's blatant inactivity during his tenure. None of us are in NBA front offices so we obviously don't know but what we do know is that Joe made moves that looked like a rebuild when he said he was trying to build a contender around Dame and now he's holding onto players who could help teams contend when he's telling us we're rebuilding. Give me a fucking break with the "what moves do you know he could have made" because I don't know, I just want the moves he does or doesn't make to follow the fucking narrative that he is telling us.So what trade was Joe supposed to make, that he didn't?
I'm still curious about the thought process by a lot of people posting what you are. Is there any reasonable explanation to Brogdon having MORE value this summer, while being only a year from free agency? What team will give up anything more for him then, with the threat of him walking? We had a very finite window to maximize his value. This, so much this! People said Joe would be selling low for just 2 seconds for Brogdon yet now they are pissed he wasn't moved.
Why is this surprising? The guy learned from two of the premiere cake bakers in NBA front office history in Pritchard and Olshey.Sit back and do nothing.
Different administration, same strategy

I wish new ownership close. Joe is a figure head only to Bert/Jody/Vulcans.Have we seen Joe make a bold move yet? Tell me when that has happened? When has Joe told us the direction of the team and then made moves that seemed to help us build in that direction?

Not when keeping the vet:It's okay to have a couple, in fact it's ideal. We're the 3rd youngest team in the league.
