that is one take on it. a border bill where on 20B of the 120B went to the border. it also still allowed an open border. Biden if he cared about America could close the border today.Senate GOP voted down the border bill. Guess they don't actually care about fixing anything, they just want to complain that Biden isn't fixing the border.
Nobody cares. If they did they would just fix the immigration process and everyone legit would enter legally. Only criminals would try to do it illegally, so they'd be incredibly easy to spot with drones and pick up.that is one take on it. a border bill where on 20B of the 120B went to the border. it also still allowed an open border. He wont of course
I honestly don't understand people who think it can be done.No one can "close the border", not even North Korea.
you are right you cant "close" the border, but drastically reducing the shit show that is occurring would be great. Crossings were way down during the previous adminastration, this is not debatable.Under Bush II a bipartisan immigration reform was negotiated. It has votes to pass and Bush said he would sign. Last minute Republicans backed out.

you want the evidence of the border crossings for each year? just making sure i am getting the data you want...i cant believe you want to see those numbers if that is what you are askingShow me the evidence.
Show me the evidence.

Data show economic benefits of immigrants.
So fix the immigration system to make it easier than paying a coyote to rape your wife and kids in the desert.Immigration isn’t inherently a bad thing, nobody said that. When done in moderation and vetting of course it can be good. Millions of people streaming in unaccounted for is not a good thing. A wide open border between two countries, one where hundreds of thousands of people are dying from overdoses and the other one the source, is not a good thing.
Also, Paul Krugman has made nearly zero accurate predictions in his career. He is no longer an authority on economics and for good reason. He’s lobbied for every policy that has left us in the current failed economic state we’re in.

From 2021 but accurate in my opinion.
Kinda looks like migrant encounters at the Mexican border increased throughout Trump's term except during COVID-19 lockdown... And at about the same rate as during Biden's first year at least...
And before 2020 they didn't include expulsions. So Biden's term looks more inflated in comparison.

Define “encounter” without being dishonest. I’ll wait. Is it the same as unmitigated entry?

The development marked a dramatic shift among Senate Republicans, who for months have insisted that any funding for Ukraine must be paired with reforms to secure the border. That demand prompted Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) to appoint Lankford to negotiate a deal with the White House and Senate Democrats to raise the standard for migrants seeking asylum and give Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas emergency power to deport migrants.
It also would have provided $6.8 billion to U.S. Customs and Border Protection, $7.6 billion for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and $4 billion to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. Altogether, it would have invested $20.2 billion in improving border security.
McConnell and Lankford hailed the deal for delivering major wins for Republicans, though they acknowledged they didn’t get every reform they wanted from the four-month negotiation
I didn't provide the link. I just replied to it with a chart that was included, showing that Republicans blaming Democrats for the border is stupid. And vice versa.Define “encounter” without being dishonest. I’ll wait. Is it the same as unmitigated entry?
