As to this thread....I've never been a fan of bashing people who aren't around except for Raymond Felton and Donald Trump. HCP....starting this thread was unnecessary...your wife has already told everyone the situation. I'd rather KS used the PM function than start a whiny, thread about it. What happens in the PM mode stays in the PM mode dude!!!! Learn the game, then post!

However, as a negative poster, I never got annoyed with positive posters because I, like them, wanted the team to succeed. I think, like many of the positive posters have said in this thread, that we can all co-exist pretty easily. The arguing has to stop. Some posters just need to accept that I don't think American born white centers and guys that went to Syracuse are good picks in the lottery, and in turn, I need to understand that many people find that irrational and think I'm insane for thinking that with no statistical basis. This isn't about me, I was just using those as examples. I wish Erik well, and hope he comes back slightly more rational than when he left. I will not be posting with any type of regularity, but when I do, it will be vastly different from before because I am vastly different from before.

I don't see any reason not to share the texts, it's not like they're about deep secrets or something.

If he has the balls to say that shit to him on here and also says it to him in text, why should it being a text make it off limits?

We can and should be better than that though. Hell, even if you don't want to, HCP posting the texts will just beget more texts, which will drag this on longer. If you really don't want to see it go on longer, then you don't want him posting the texts.

The only reason I see anyone wanting him to post the texts is if you actually don't like KS and want to see him humiliated on the forum. I get the instinct; people loved watching hangings when that was a thing. Everyone loves to point and laugh at someone they think should be laughed at, especially when they seem to be "bringing it on themselves". But that's some low-ass shit entertainment. It requires a lack of empathy I can't get behind.

It's not cool, no matter what you're reaping, no matter what you sowed. We are better than this.

Because the only purpose of sharing the texts is to use them to attack a poster. And honestly it's just going to make the texts worse later. If you're into that, okay, but this is not cool behavior.

I have no dog in this fight. I don't really care if HCP is trying to humiliate Eric but considering that I am aware of Eric's posting history I'm not exactly sympathetic towards his plight.

In the end it really doesn't matter. This is an internet forum, and some people are taking this shit too seriously. If it fades away like it should, great. If not, whatever. No one here has an obligation to read their back and forth anyways and I'm sure a good number of people will choose to ignore it.
 
Mods, any chance this can get moved to the OT section? It's not about basketball and it's not about the Blazers. And ironically, it's turned much more contentious and divisive than the game threads the OP was complaining about. But that's not surprising, I think we all saw that coming.

There's a difference between sending a PM and going "you know man, I probably overreacted. I can accept it and move on. Catch ya later dude"

and "I make more money than you, you welcher. " etc.

If I send you a message where I pretty much go off my rocker (under similar circumstances where I am constantly harping you about shit) you should be able to show it to people who are still defending my, as proof that maybe I'm a little over the top here.

The time for diplomacy passed a while ago, when it was continually brought up BY King about the stupid fucking bet, and how much of a "real" fan HCP was. No where did John call out kings fandom or anything like that.

This is all on king, and like someone else said, he's reaping what he's sewing.

To me, a bigger blunder was the initial way that king did this whole thing, not hcp's way of dealing with texts.

This is rich. We have a thread that is now OT chastising our players for making sexist/homophobic comments, yet we have a blazer fan/employee doing exactly what Crandc was going on about, implying VG is some sort of less than man because KS is his 'girlfriend'.

This place is one helluva entertainment source. I love it.

my bad....I used recent post mode when I logged on...and KS didn't need to start it either..I think the best way to leave a forum is just leave it..I'm about to give up on it myself. If I do, I won't break the furniture on my way out

There are people behind these usernames, and right now two real people are escalating shit. Only one of them is showing this escalation to his buddies with the sole purpose of hoping they will laugh at the other guy.

The time for diplomacy is never over. This isn't some stupid action movie; this is real life with real people involved.

None of what is happening is cool; but taking shit public isn't the answer.

In my experience, once both aggrieved posters join the discussion, it's bound to become decisive as other posters rush to join one camp or the other. In the last few posts alone we've seen a personal attack and a lot of "he started it" finger pointing. I fail to see how any of this is beneficial to the community.

If the thread would have simply been about how to deal with negativity in the game threads, that would have actually been helpful. But, it's not. It's now a KS vs. HCP internet cage fight with backers of both fighters jumping into the ring.

Yeah, we know there are people behind the usernames. And in this case, one of the "real names" contacted the other one, IN REAL LIFE, about shit that was said on a message board.

I'm not really sure how the guy who hasn't continually harped about a fucking bet, hasn't contacted the other one about the stupid fucking bet, hasn't flooded this board with posts about it, hasn't even brought it up out of the blue, is the one you're throwing shit at.

King is not a victim here, he's not innocent, and he's getting exactly what he deserves out of this, and exactly what he wants (attention).

If THAT is your argument, I agree. But HCP feels that he needs to point out that the guy who did all of what I said above, is still saying that shit in real life.

One he (king) brought it into real life, it changed things.

whats to stop king from contacting the Blazers about this, or even worse, sending HCP stuff in the mail?

This isn't how i would've dealt with it, but I'm not HCP and I find no reason to fault him for doing it the way he did.
 
The one thing I have learned about posting in community forums is there are always going to be posters that post primarily for the attention they receive. They can either be outlandishly positive, outlandishly negative, just flat out off the wall, but in the end it's all about getting attention. It's even more easy to idnetify those posters when they feel the need to create an exit speech.
