RC2/S2 has always been about letting the community create the culture here. There's something to be said for group intelligence.

What we are not about is censorship. We wouldn't consider cracking down on either POV (homer, realist).

I can't force anyone to read and/or post here, but I can assure that those who have honest intentions are welcome here.

If you can't convince others to share your POV through reasoned arguments, that's on you.

No local TV coverage after the first round. HCP isn't working these games.
You are correct sir. I'll be working for TNT on their broadcast, but we are done with the local stuff.

SOOOO since Sir Jinx-A-Lot isn't with us anymore, he won't mind me sharing his text he sent me earlier tonight......isn't the first time he has contacted me like this. This time he was a bit more polite than normal. You must realize I have a beautiful wife and kids and hobbies and am living a normal happy life and have responsibilities and don't have time to reply.Maybe deep down he's jealous that The HCP has an Emmy and he DOESN'T!

As I scanned this quickly after I received it, I looked up and saw my son who I just watched play a HS baseball game and my daughter who I just picked up from soccer practice as they prepare for the Oregon State Cup Championship this Saturday and realized how happy I am to have so much more going on in my life that I would feel I need to send people sketchy almost stalkerish type text messages concerning topics that only I care that much about. Oh well....... #RipCity

This is exactly what I was talking about in my post. He (king) just can't let it go about a stupid fucking bet on a message board. It's as if he can't even see anything he says or does as wrong, and doesn't understand what irony or hypocrisy is.

Yeah, the "negative" posts can be tiring, and it's part of why I don't always post in the game threads (that and working/games not on TV). But I'm not sure that the person who addresses the issue should be one of the people who make game threads and having a different opinion difficult to participate in.

When basketball or a sports team becomes such a vital part of your life that you contact someone OFF LINE about something to do with it, you might need to take a step back and re-evaluate your life choices.

Yeah, we're all dorky fans, and say things on here that are kind of goofy (beautiful Central Oregon ;) ) but it's not like we then go out of our way to contact someone on here and continually play that character up like it's a big deal.

Don't take shit so seriously man, it's just a game/message board.

This describes KingSpeed to a T, are you kidding me?
This Bones Jones is another like the gorilla kid. Mad shade towards me. I'm good with it though. Like CJ said when I asked him about his favorite place to play........ He said Memphis is one of em because of all the hate tossed at him! The HCP thrives on hate!

Well, you're certainly living up to your moniker, Hispanic Causin' Panic!

Mission accomplished.

Got another text this morning. He's very upset with me for some reason. Later I'll go for a walk and then swing by Starbucks for an Iced Tea.
Have my Mexicans coming over to do a spring cleanup of the yard this afternoon. (their kind are so hard working and obedient)

I'll start thinking about tonight's game around 3. Hey maybe I'll go post in the game thread since I'm not working it!

Never thought of it like that. Well done. That's true. Not too many people on here have what they're are going to do to you as their name!!!

I have so many problems with those post. What was the point in this? You're really trying hard to make him look bad. Youre taking shots at him and posting his text because he won't see it. That's pretty god damn childish of you. Not to mention how cocky this post was as well.

This is a basketball forum. I don't know why the hell you're bragging about you children's high school sports in a way to try to put this man down. Through your posts in the past youve shown that you need to make yourself feel superior to others. Ill assume that's what you're doing with this bullshit post.
You're a clown for us to laugh at.

I so want to make a crack here about Mexicans and HCP, but really, I just laughed at this whole post. Well done HCP

HCP is a professional name dropper.

He plays bridge with Terry Stotts.

Dame lets him wash/wax his car.

CJ let him carry his bags one time.

Of course, there's photo evidence of all of these events because HCP is the selfie king. :devilwink:

It's time.

I have been viewing the forum for a while now, and thought this was a great thread to reintroduce myself into. Before my illness, I was a negative poster, and I understand how that can rub people the wrong way. However, as a negative poster, I never got annoyed with positive posters because I, like them, wanted the team to succeed. However, I never really understood why they had such a hard time being honest about the team. When I got sick, and part of my brain ended up in a lab waste disposal, I became a very different kind of negative poster. Downright mean. I actually equate that to the way Kingspeed is as well with his overly pollyanna type attitude. He is so "I told you so" I hated when he posted. He would throw 1000 ridiculous predictions against the wall, and when 1 of them would be correct he was the first to call out all those who dared disagree with him and his far superior basketball knowledge (learn the game, then post). When I said I was leaving because of a brain tumor, he said good riddance. Rude, but that's who he is, I guess? I think, like many of the positive posters have said in this thread, that we can all co-exist pretty easily. The arguing has to stop. Some posters just need to accept that I don't think American born white centers and guys that went to Syracuse are good picks in the lottery, and in turn, I need to understand that many people find that irrational and think I'm insane for thinking that with no statistical basis. This isn't about me, I was just using those as examples. I wish Erik well, and hope he comes back slightly more rational than when he left. I will not be posting with any type of regularity, but when I do, it will be vastly different from before because I am vastly different from before.

Nice to have you back. I like the forum as a place where anyone is entitled to and can express their own opinions.

Only thing I dislike are trolls that post things for attention. Eric skirted that boundary far too often, but I still hope he can come back because I think he often provides a viewpoint that should be expressed.

Great to hear from you, MM. Hope the docs didn't remove too much of the snark. This place needs a touch of that to offset us homers.

"Hispanic Causin' Panic"?

I always thought it stood for "Huge Cocky Prick". ;)

KingJinx isn't going anywhere...... trust me. He's reading this thread as I type. Just got ANOTHER text from him. #HCP=CLASSLESS/UNDERPAID

Never understood people that needed to flaunt their income in the face of others...

Specially when they don't know all of the facts. Hell HCP could be a closet billionaire ;)

really great post MM....the board has lacked the balance you bring whether negative or not...glad you seem to have recovered and hope to see you post more. Go Blazers!

I just lost all respect for eric.

Really dude? A dick size contest saying you make way more than him?

Absolutely pathetic.
His posts are pretty much the same way. I'm right, you're wrong. I'm better than you. I'm smarter than you. The mods seem to like him though, so we just have to deal with it. Sadly, there have been some really good contributors to the forum that have left, stating he was the main reason. It's not his fault, I know he suffers from Bi-polar disorder. It's still tough. I know I made things tough on people as well.
