Sadly, Olshey lost all control when he cucked himself with Turner and Meyers contract.
And that rabbit is gonna be Beasley for MLE and using the TPE on Lee/Green.Agree.
At the time of those signings, I used the phases;
Olshey painted himself into a corner.
He went a contract too far.
I have not totally given up on Olshey, like some Blazer fans.
However, I believe this off season will define his legacy as the Blazers GM. He needs to pull a rabbit out of his hat to get "his" team to the next level.

RIP IT DOWN.
By the time this LA/GS next 5 years is up and lbj and kd are on the downside we will have accumulated enough lottery picks to hopefully contend. If you look at 2020 as the answer I disagree. Roughly 80 mil will be tied up in Dame/CJ/Nurk(resigned)/Collins, that’s a lot of roster spots to fill with the remaining cap, sure we could probably get 1 max guy but the track record isn’t good.

That's a crappy rabbit. And that rabbit is gonna be Beasley for MLE and using the TPE on Lee/Green.
Doesn’t really rock my world but it may be the best we can do without trading CJ, which I’m not against but with Olshey... not realistic
I dont' see why this is a bad thing. Everything coming out now is mostly about getting hits and readers its not about what is actually happening. Neil has always kept a very tight ship and almost nothing ever leaks out before it happens, thats been seen when he was in the Clippers and shown as the GM of the Blazers. Just because we are not in the talks for people does not mean Neil isn't doing his job, it just means he isn't spouting off nonsense to reporters like most other GMs.A day before free agency, not one word of Neil and Blazers linked to any major players in trade or for TPE... instead we get talk of Jow Nunnally and Pot head Beasley
It also means Portland isn't interesting enough to a national audience for these click bait sites and click bait social media posters to make shit up, and regurgitate made up shit, involving the Blazers. And I'm fine with that.I dont' see why this is a bad thing. Everything coming out now is mostly about getting hits and readers its not about what is actually happening. Can you imagine rooting for a franchise that could score Lbj/Kawhi/pg all in one offseason. There would be a parade in pdx just for the signings.

Everyone keeps talking about Olshey playing it close to the vest but what does that have to do with the GMs he is trying to trade with keeping quiet??? What are the odds every other GM he has talked to keeping quiet if he is truly trying to make a big trade?Unlike other GMs we've had, Olshey plays his cards very close to the vest.

I would add that a lot of leaks probably come from agents. So either don’t tell the agents, or be on good enough terms that they’ll keep their mouth shut. Some GMs use leaks to the media as a negotiating tool, it's not unreasonable to think that in the past when things have been leaked by those that Olshey was talking to that Olshey walks from the deal. NBA GMs are a very small fraternity. They know each other very well. Just because you aren't hearing things doesn't mean he's not trying to make something happen.

Another explanation for the silence is that Olshey just doesn't do anything, far-fetched as that may seem. That would also explain why nothing changes, year after year. But you guys are probably right. He's probably busy-beavering away silently at his desk as we speak.
Sooo.... Are you looking for likes on this one?Blazers will post a video of Zach Collins working out. There will be reports that he's put on 20lbs of muscle and that he spent a weekend washing Kevin McHale's car.
Blazers will announce that they've signed a top tier free agent and that free agent is Ed Davis.
Blazers will quickly pivot to talking about summer league.
Zach Collins will play the opening game of summer league where he will have 4pts, 3rbs, and 10 fouls.
Blazers will announce that Collins got a minor knee injury while washing Kevin McHale's car that will require surgery. But good news, they promise he'll be ready by training camp.
