<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Actually I think this comment is off-base.
Look up and down the list, outside of developing talent in Kenyon Martin and Richard Jefferson who has become even marginally better than they were?
Rodney Rogers?</div>
Your right Rodney Rogers didnt become better in with the Nets, he actually became worst. But he was just arisk Rob Thorn took because he wa teammates with J.Kidd in PHX together.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Lucious Harris?</div>
You could say Lucious Harris became marginally better as a Nets player than he was with the Mavs.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Dikembe Mutumbo?</div>
No need to comment of course he fell off as a Net
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Kerry Kittles?
Keith Van Horn?</div>
They were our draft picks so you cant say whether they got better when they became Nets because they never played anywhere before us. And you cant compare what they did in college because the level of competion is totally different.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">I can't think of anyone...</div>
Stephen Jackson he couldnt even make the Suns when he was drafted by them in 97'. So he had to go overseas, but we gave him a chance in 2000. And he opened up alot of eyes with the Net due to the minutes he got because of Kittles injury. And led to him signing with the Spurs & look he is going to be one of the hottest free Agents on the market this year.
Damon Jones- Another player who couldnt find away in the NBA, but we were the 1st team to give him a legit shot on the NBA level in 98'. And now he is a pretty productive player on the NBA level.
Drazen Petrovic-Most def. He was a 3rd round pick in1986 of Portland. But he idnt come to the Blazers until his rookie contact was almost in 1989. He hardly played with them that. And nobody really knew who he was when the Nets got him in 90'. But by 91' he was one of he best SG in the league. And Drazen Petrovic success with the Nets really opened the door for all the overseas players like Tony kukoc, & then Peja, Dirk. Because the NBA wasnt really taking risk on bringing over shooters from over seas before Drazen. Detlef Schrempf is the only truely successful one drafted before Drazen. And they were basically during the same era.
I seen somebody mention Steph, He doesnt really count because he was already a highly scouted talent when he was on the Wolves. He probably could have went to any team just about. And put up those type of # he did with the Nets.
Sam Cassell is in the same postion basically, he already proved himself his 1st two seasons with the Rockets. He never started during his 1st two seasons with them but he was often the player in the game in the 4th quarter over Kenny Smith(who was a former all-star in this league) during the Rockets championshp runs during those years. So eveybody Knew he would be a legit player. But I do understand why you said him because we gave him his 1st job as a everyday legit starter on the NBa level.
Jason Kidd was an all-star & considered to be a top 2 or at least 5 pg before he even came to the Nets so I wouldnt really say he got better because he came to the Nets.
And DC & Kenny Anderson were our Draft picks, so the same rules apply to them as Van Horn & Kittles.
