I went in to add NBA League pass now on YouTubeTV (YTTV) and don't see it anywhere. What a mess.

I loved how YTTV would allow me to watch 4 games at once, plus how it records it, plus I can easily watch on TV, Tablet, Phone.

So I guess to watch NBA games I now need 4 different subscriptions
  • ESPN, ABC, NBC (all avail on YTTV or alternative)
  • Peacock streaming subscription
  • Amazon streaming Prime subscription
  • Amazon NBA League Pass add on
Kind of annoying I also need at least 3 different apps running. So I can't watch these all on a single TV at once as I could previously.

Unless they have plans to allow you to load your subscriptions all in NBA app and then watch all games at once in there.

Yeah, YTTV is clunky at times. I'm fine with it, because the cost differences of other providers/bang for the buck, isnt enough to draw me away...but there are times when I honestly think about getting one of those boxes that give you almost every channel/etc available. My issue is I like how I can watch YTTV on my phone, can have it on multiple streams at once and I can access it via my phone or laptop easily. (yes I know others can do that too).

I already have Amazon, Peacock is free for me, and I'm lucky that I live in the area and can watch Blazervision.

IF you're interested in Blazer games (thus why you want LP), maybe get a VPN and see if you can sign up that way? I don't know if they base it on the billing address or the IP address. Although, I know with Surfshark VPN, they have Seattle as a VPN option, but I don't know if Blazervsion is available up there.

I’ve had Fubo for a while and then got BlazerVision last year. Turned out that the games were on Fubo anyway, so it was kind of a waste of money for me. I did get two free tickets, so I guess I overpaid for a pair of 300 level tickets (which ended up being that absolutely dreadful loss to the Grizz.

Does anyone know if the games will be streamed on Fubo?

Yes, KUNP/Rip City TV is on Fubo.
and on DirectTV stream and satellite as well.

https://www.nba.com/blazers/watch?_...GcxJHQxNzU5OTM5NzY3JGo2MCRsMCRoMTY4Mzk5OTU2OA..

Fubo and DirecTV Stream carry all available games. Amazon Prime and Peacock will carry select nationally televised games during the season. In addition, some streaming platforms may host select nationally televised games on NBC. Information on additional streaming options in the Portland area will be provided when available. While KATU is available on YouTube TV, the platform decided to drop KUNP Rip City TV Network as of January 8th. Sinclair, KATU's parent company, is actively working to restore KUNP on YouTube TV. Although this decision is beyond our direct control, we fully support efforts to expand access to games for our fans and remain committed to pursuing broader coverage across the region.

I live in TX so I can order LP without a VPN. Only regional issue is when the Spurs play the Blazers, I might try going to the game(s) here so then its only 1-2 games in Portland. Can watch at bar or LP next day if I really need to. Years prior I have even done 7 day trial on the Spurs local streaming Ballys thing.

Yeah YTTV does have a number of minor annoyances. I wish it had a simpler way to add or remove recordings. With Blazers I'll probably just tell it to record all Blazers content. Wish it allowed every channel in the quad view as lots of them can't be combined together. I'm sure thats a license issue not a tech issue though. Still its by far the best app I have found so while could be improved I haven't found anything close to as good as it.

I take frequent trips to Oregon so I also could just subscribe to Blazers vision and then roam or find a way to reset it monthly at his house or something. But I do like having full LP to watch other NBA teams.

I just scrolled through the channel guide on Comcast. I guess they still have league pass. Of course the local restrictions apply so that probably isn’t a good option for anyone local.
Maybe check if that actually has games televised on it? Maybe its just an old guide that hasn't been updated from the change that took effect last week on 10/1.

Or maybe Amazon just doesn't want streaming competitors to carry league pass but is allowing the irrelevant dying carcass of cable/satellite to carry it.

KUNP/Rip City TV would only be carried by Fubo subscription if you live in the Oregon TV markets right?

If it were an option would be curious what people who have used both Fubo and YTTV think of each app/interface.

That's a good question. I think so. But probably works in Seattle etc as well since that is within the Trail Blazers broadcasting area.

I have no experience with YTTV. But I've had Fubo for several years and I like the app/interface. I mostly use it via my Apple TV box/remote. Backyard patio TV via Roku and its fine as well.

Could be but honestly they just dropped the price of everything on Comcast and there is no reason to get anything other than the sports package which is pretty good actually. You got to get internet service somewhere. That can be one of multiple providers and even your phone but right now the prices are higher everywhere else.

Amazon isn’t the only place to get the NBA LeaguePass. I have DirecTV and have already watched 10 preseason games. I don’t know why you guys think this?

Interesting thing now is…..I truly believe because you need like 5 different services to watch all the games now….I think the numbers will go down viewership wise. Old school fans won’t get Amazon or Peacock just to watch some games. The league is obviously trying to get a wider fan base and reach MORE people, think it’s going to backfire for awhile.

I quite agree. While I'm flexible and willing to watch games online, I think their best target audience is on TV. There is waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much competition online for streaming to take a stronghold on peoples minds (in as much as watching NBA games).

Not saying it shouldn't be an option, but I wonder if the #'s for streamed games aren't going to be, long term, a healthy/steady solution.

I believe he said that the ONLY place you could get it was Amazon. That they exclusively have it. Not correct.
My post you quote literally has an official response from support.google that states the exclusive place to stream League pass is now Amazon as of last week.

Now maybe Amazon lets you and the 20 other people that still have Cable/satellite as a grandfathered exception.

Just with my schedule, I can never watch games LIVE. So every night or before a road trip, I set the games up to record and I’ll go back and watch ‘em. Yesterday before I left town, I did that. I saw one was on PEACOCK. I would normally have set it to record, but can’t. I’ll never remember to go back and watch it now. I know how I do it it VERY rare or I’m the ONLY person this way, but I’ll never watch a streaming game I don’t think. Even if I’m off, the last thing I’ll ever do is sit and watch LIVE sports. Always later that night when everybody is asleep.

You are telling me that NOBODY can get the NBA League Pass anymore? ONLY thru AMAZON? Not a single person in the world who has cable or satalite? ONLY Amazon?

Yeah thats what I liked about YTTV last year is it had 100% of games all in one slick app, DVR, and watch 4 games at one time as well as seemingly zoom to one game or back to all 4.

Now its a whole bunch of different apps and streaming sites. The NBA should at least have one app with one package you can get that has everything and includes subscriptions to every needed service. Many people want the convenance and a single source while not being price sensitive.

My brother and father in law just texted me that they have been watching preseason games on Xfinity this past week.

In terms of streaming (non YTTV) mostly I've just used Amazon streaming to watch Thu NFL games. You don't have to watch any of it live though, also don't even have to set to record its always going to be there available. You can start at the beginning or any place you choose and watch it. Can start it later that night or the next day or whenever you want.

curious if seattle will be in glorious 480p again, OTA. even 720p would be incredible for 25 select games.

My brother in law has DISH and he has it as well. Nothing has changed on WHERE you can get the NBALeaguePass at all. Still in all the same places it’s been for years. Never dealt with YouTubeTV, but that sucks if they took it away.

Does it show the score?

As linked and pictured below NBA League pass is no longer available on YouTubeTV. I'd assume Fubo, Sling TV, and all TV streaming is the same. Perhaps Satellite and Cable have an exception. Not sure about the direct TV apps and such as they kind of blur the line between satellite and streaming.

No, it doesn't spoil the game if thats what you mean. When you start it you just select if you want to watch live or start at the beginning or do scoring play highlights, etc.

It's certainly changed as its not available on YouTubeTV at all. I haven't seen a single streaming service that offers it now except Amazon. Every one of them used to offer it (Fubo, SlingTV, etc)

Guy fucks up a conversation not even being directly involved in it!

You should have said you were talking about STREAMING FAMS!

Look at sling.com - can watch all the major sports EXCEPT no NBA.

Seems like a major blunder with the NBA? Only major pro sports league with no options for streaming TV providers.

Young fans (target advertising demographic) basically only stream. Who do you know with Satellite/Cable that is under the age of 50? I can't think of a single person I know.

Streaming is definitely the future and on its way up, but I would GUESS more sports viewers have cabals/Satalite. It is going away for sure and we will have to adjust.

Cough cough……SuperBox…….cough cough
