Streaming is definitely the future and on its way up, but I would GUESS more sports viewers have cabals/Satalite. It is going away for sure and we will have to adjust.

About 40% of fans watched Trail Blazer games via cable/Xfinity last season in the Portland area. It used to be a much much higher percentage.

This is strictly your opinion and is UNprovable !

can you not get it directly at nba dot com?
Yes you can buy it there at nba.com. I bought it at Amazon and then if you link your NBA.com ID you can watch on both sites/apps. If you buy it on NBA.com I'm not sure there is any way to watch on prime video.

For sports?
Maybe sports viewers is higher. It appears that 24.1% of Cable viewers number includes satellite. So it was probably 80% or such years ago and every year just like landline telephones this has dropped down to 24%. 5 years from now that will probably be under 10%.

Many Cable companies are going bankrupt or transitioning to completely turning off all their service. Even with much higher fees than youtubetv or alternatives they can't break even.

No. Cable and satellite are tracked separately in the TV metrics world.

Sports viewers tend to be older according to the TV ratings. Adults age 35-64 is often the highest # of viewers. And older people tend to stick with cable. And the trend that's been happening for years now is that the younger age groups tends to watch shows/videos on streaming services like Netflix etc instead of live sports.

Its kinda funny how, given this information, obvious it is how the NBA is so desperate to target a younger audience so they can hopefully get them as they age (which is smart business). But what's even funnier is, all it's doing is pushing away their core audience (us old farts).

I'm a fan of the team not because when I was under 35 the games were presented to me in a way that was clearly aimed at my age group. I became a fan of the team because my dad was one, and the games were on TV (occasionally) and it was a fun thing to watch.

Now if you don't mind me, I have some kids to go yell at right now. They claim they're waiting for their school bus, but I know better. They're spitting on my lawn!

:biglaugh: get off my lawn.
I dont agree that they are pushing away the old farts/core audience. A large majority of the games are still available on cable, and most of the national games are on a channel that is available on an old farts cable package.

The presentation I mean. The music, the way ESPN/ABC is presenting the games in highlight packages only.

Part of it I'll admit is nostalgia, but the games on NBC felt important, the games on ABC/ESPN feel like a chore.

I see what you mean. For example the graphic Fox uses for the score etc for their college football games sucks in my opinion. It looks like something you'd see in a video game.

Yep. I know as Americans our attention span is about 35 seconds, but it's just over the top.

Why was NBA on TNT (the show with Shaq, Kenny, Charles and Ernie) so popular? Because they didn't flood you with graphics, tickers, random references etc (tho they had their moments)...

It's like watching the all star weekend. Not saying it should be presented how it was 25+ years ago (watching those games is like watching paint dry, with how dull things are), but it shouldn't be like watching a YouTube/TikTok/ig influencer on steroids.

That new score box of their’s is atrocious. Looks like a mistake. My boys on their football package said they have revised nothing but negative feedback.

Okay complaints about Blazervision. Why allow on demand viewing, or delayed viewing if you are going to broadcast the score when loading up the game?
Talk about being a major spoiler, that should be common sense. No one wants to see the score when going to load up a recorded/delayed game.

And now it says im now good to watch games live or on demand but the game wont load up. Just this:

I had issues like that for the first game. They suggested that I

A: delete the app and download it again

B: clear my cache

However, that was based on my laptop and phone, I don't know what you'd do other than deleting the app on your TV?

Once I cleared my cache and deleted/reinstalled the app, everything worked...well, not fine. BV is still kinda clunky...but it worked. (actually, it's been a PITA to get it work on my laptop so I don't even bother)

Thing is, first game worked just fine. Then we go to watch this one snd i need to sign in all over again. Now the game is over and it wont let us watch anything. I can watch recaps of other highlights and of this game but cant watch the game.
Sorry. This is amateur hour. This isn't the first year of Blazer vision. Reminds me of the Blazer app. Been five years snd they still haven't fixed the issues with it.

screw it. Shifting gears and watching the mariners rhat is also recorded. Lol.
But damnit. Wish the Blazers had a better IT group.

It’s because this wasn’t a regular Blazer broadcast tonight!!!!

what issues do you have with the app?

Not sure why that would matter in this scenario?

So I wake up, go to watch the game and Blazervision only offers a 3 minute recap. the highlights don't even show Hansens 3pt shots? And the recap is full of 30 second ads sprinkled in?
Sorry Blazers. But that is pathetic…$120.00 for a bunch of crap highlights with commercials?

It’s simple. Because it wasn’t a Blazer broadcasting produced game, there isn’t the crew there (guys like HCP) putting together the normal amount of highlights etc.

It’s a preseason game. You are complaining about a preseason game. :biglaugh: and a preseason game that wasn’t even supposed to be on any form of TV at all.

$120, divided by 76 regular season games that will be on BlazerVision, equals $1.58 per game. Give me a break dude.

How much does it cost me a game if I get BlazerVision free!!!???

I don't think you are understanding what I am saying. The whole game broadcast live. Why cant the whole game be watched tape delayed? To chop it up and provide only highlights would take more work than just uploading the game to be watched in its entirety. So based on what you say, they did more work, to offer less. Makes zero sense to me.
