I wonder if Sessions' speech on free speech applies to Trump?

Just like exercising your free speech is legal, it is also legal for a private entity to fire you for making their company look bad.

They fired him because he caused distress to other workers - not because it made them look bad, but the main point stands - these are apples to oranges comparisons.

The issue is that the President uses his platform to rail against other people using their platform. Hypocrisy at it's best.

This is not the prevailing thought. It's why Drumpf is president in the first place. MFs actually believe he's good at business...
He's good at it. By good I mean playing the game to live the highlife.

There are 3.5 billion reasons to think he's good at business.

It must be nice to own golf courses and skyscrapers in NYC.

From your favorite station. I'm not so ready to call CNN "fake news".

Trump says NFL ratings are 'way down.' That's not completely true

President Trump tweeted Tuesday morning that they NFL ratings "are way down." The numbers for the league's most recent games say otherwise.
The overall overnight ratings for the NFL's week 3 games were up 3% compared to the same week last year, according to Nielsen data.

That increase includes a "Monday Night Football" game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Arizona Cardinals that nabbed a 9.3 overnight rating for ESPN, up a whopping 63% over last year's New Orleans Saints and Atlanta Falcons game, which brought in a 5.7. (To come up with overnight ratings, Nielsen takes the percentage of households watching in 56 U.S. markets and comes up with an overnight average -- so a 9.3 means that 9.3% of households in those 56 markets tuned into the game on ESPN on Monday night.)

Now, it should be noted that those numbers come with two major asterisks.

The first is that the Cowboys are arguably the most popular and watched team in the league, and almost any game featuring them is likely to do better than almost any other.

The second is that the overnight ratings for this week's Monday night game basically had to go up compared to last year's, which was competing with the first presidential debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, and as a result brought in the program's lowest viewership in at least the past 25 years.

Trump has been at war with the NFL over the past few days beginning with a firestorm he started on Friday night when he went after the league and attacked players who have been kneeling or sitting during the national anthem to draw attention to social justice issues.

On Tuesday morning, Trump tweeted that "Ratings for NFL football are way down except before game starts, when people tune in to see whether or not our country will be disrespected!"

If Trump was talking about NFL ratings generally, and not this week, he was at least partially right in two ways. The NFL's ratings have fallen over the past two years, though that has happened for a number of reasons not related to the anthem protests, and the overnight ratings for the pregame shows on Sunday were way up -- though that was likely more about people tuning in to see discussion about the issue than about watching the anthem ceremonies themselves.

"Not completely true"

vs

"Untrue"

One game had huge ratings, the monday night game. Most of the rest were down, some by a lot.

Then why make definitive statements? They should only be made when you're speaking exact truth.

I tuned in the Monday night game just long enough to see if the Cowboys would stand for the Anthem.
Probably a whole bunch did the same.

The league still has a large audience, but it's been declining the past few years. Trump is a TV guy, no? He was definitely making a dig at the league for its decline.

That dude isn't worth that much. Show me his taxes?

How much is Trump Tower worth?

http://money.cnn.com/2017/06/16/news/trump-financial-disclosure-form/index.html

President Trump reported hundreds of millions of dollars in income Friday in financial disclosure forms that shed more light on his vast business holdings.

At his golf courses alone, Trump reported $288 million in income in the past year. That includes $19.8 million from his club in Bedminster, New Jersey, where he has spent some weekends as president.

The numbers were reported in a 98-page disclosure form signed by Trump this week and made public by the Office of Government Ethics. The report covers January 2016 through April 15, 2017.

Trump reported $37.2 million in income in the past year from Mar-a-Lago, the private Florida resort where Trump hosted the president of China and ordered missile strikes against Syria. The club has doubled its membership fee in the past year.

The Mar-a-Lago income figure was $7.4 million higher than on his previous financial disclosure filing, in May 2016.

Trump reported $19.7 million in income through mid-April at his luxury Washington hotel, which has been a center of concerns about conflict of interest because of the possibility that foreign governments can curry favor with the president by booking rooms there. The hotel opened in September.

The president reported up to $7 million in book royalties, including $1 million to $5 million from his book "Great Again: How to Fix Our Crippled America." He reported nearly $11 million from the Miss Universe pageant and an $84,000 pension from the Screen Actors Guild.

All told, Trump brought in approximately $600 million to $650 million in employment assets and income -- or maybe more. The documents make it impossible to calculate precise totals. Officeholders are allowed to disclose figures in ranges, some of which are open ended. For example, his golf course in Aberdeen, Scotland is listed as having a value of "over $50 million."

Does he own the tower or is it just his name on it?

When You See 'Trump' On A Building, It Might Not Be What You Think

Donald Trump got his start in real estate, and over the years he's owned and sold many of New York City's great buildings, including the Plaza Hotel and the St. Moritz.

His image as a developer endures, even though these days, Trump's real estate holdings are surprisingly sparse.

Ever since his presidential campaign took off, the Trump buildings have become full-blown New York City tourist attractions.

Tour guide Ned Callon recently led a group of French and Chinese tourists as they snapped selfies beneath an oversized gold "TRUMP" sign at 40 Wall Street.

He pointed it out, adding it's "now known as the Trump Building."

"He is not a shy man," Callon said. "His name is on every single one of his buildings here in New York City."

That oversized Trump name also appears on a series of luxury towers overlooking the Hudson River. But like many of his Manhattan properties, Trump doesn't actually own them.

The towers are part of a West Side development that solidified Trump's real estate legacy in New York. They also set a pattern he followed on other projects, of licensing his name to other developers.

You can see a breakdown of who owns what here.)

Gabby Warshawer, the director of research with CityRealty.com, says Trump's West Side project is an example of his real success — in licensing his name to other projects and buildings. "Because a lot of buildings have been branded as Trump properties, it's assumed that Trump owns a lot more than he does," she says.

Trump may no longer be considered one of the city's pre-eminent real estate developers. But he's been successful at making the buildings that do bear his name synonymous with opulence.

Warshawer says the condo units in Trump buildings command a premium.

The properties also provide Trump with international name recognition — a priceless commodity for any presidential hopeful.

Don't create false narratives. No one said he was broke.
You said he isn't a good businessman. You should define it better so we know what your narrative is.

He clearly knows how to play the system and has for decades.

Then I see you link a story about him licensing his name to buildings. He doesn't even have any risk then does he? That's pretty smart.

Sears has tons of prime real estate that they own if I'm not mistaken. How's that working out for them?

You turned that into he's broke... I don't need to define anything. You do.

Regular everyday people have debt on a much smaller scale. My friend at work bought a new Rav4 2 years ago interest free.

His dumbass wife took 15 grand they had in the bank and paid it towards the debt....

Then she lost her job six months later.

Whatever Trump does or doesn't have he's been living like a king for years and years and years.

It would be amazing to even think about owing anyone 150 million dollars.

Look at all that

Propagada.

Trump owns Trump Tower. He does owe $100M on the mortgage.

Thanks. Cognitive dissonance was featured prominently by the person who loves to use the phrase.

I owe 380 thousand dollars on a house I bought two years ago. I could sell it for 480 or more today.

I wish I had 1000 of them that I owed that much on. As long as I could pay the notes until I sold or rented them.
