Re: (Merged) Noon Pacific/Post Deadline Thread

Do we have a choice?

I'm fine with that. It would have been exciting to get Wallace or one of the others, but I can't say I'm disappointed.

This will give them more time to figure out how to get Chris Paul. :devilwink:

KP wanted to avoid "making huge mistake". Risk was greater than potential trade options

wtf, would taking back Nazr or giving up Batum really have been that bad? Jesus Christ if that rumor is true we are stupid. Raef+Frye+whatever picks for Nazr and Wallace? Give me a break.

Awesome. I love having a general manager who is scared shitless to make impact deals to take us to the elite level.

I agree with KP.

Pop, I'm right there with you on both of your posts.

Can we put an end to the "Trust in KP" baloney now!!

Yes. KP's status just dropped several notches today in my book.

The "So Disappointed/Gimmie Back my last 3 days" Thread

Ike for Mike..are you kidding me?
Yet we still have a PG and SF logjam and we have been sputtering the last month... :sigh:
We could have really boosted our team in the short term without mortgaging our future and we failed, epically.

Re: (Merged) Noon Pacific/Post Deadline Thread

I wish that KP would give some information on what was actually available and why we didn't do this or that. I guess that is not possible as that would contaminate his relationship with the respective GM's. He could at least say that what people read on ESPN was not true, that there were bigger stumbling block not mentioned. Going by the information available to us, the lack of action appears to be a mistake.

Re: (Merged) Noon Pacific/Post Deadline Thread

Absolutely choked this one.

How dare you. The team would be nowhere if Antonio Harvey went down with an injury? Who would we have to back Wheelz?

indeed. Maybe we don't know something KP does and getting younger through the draft is the smart thing to do!!! Trust in KP!

Fuck that. KP messed up big time today.

weak fucking shit. i'm not gonna start a fire pritch thread but fuck.....we had the best fucking trade asset to use in RLEC in which a team would have saved a shitload of cash. last year? That would have landed us Pau Gasol...this year? Jack SHIT. Even in a bad economy. Fucking pissed about this. Not as bad as the ZBO trade but this sucks that we didn't get it done.

Gotta remember the saying: Go Big or Go Home. Pritch went home. We're not going to improve this year...the only chance we have is when Martell comes back and I'm not too thrilled about that.

Same inexperience at the SF position, less than stellar point production. meh. meh. meh.

Re: (Merged) Noon Pacific/Post Deadline Thread

KP on Twitter echoing what I believe to be the case this summer.

KP mentions his old favorite "culture"... it was an impact on deciding about deals... "As economics get worse, that may be better for us"
11 minutes ago from TwitterBerry

Plus the team will have an extra $4 million or so in cash on hand this summer because insurance will continue to pay 80% of RLEC (and yes, I do realize this doesn't mean extra cap space).

So if KP was scared to pull off a deal today

... when he had half the league offering him upgrades at the small forward position ...

Why are we to believe he will suddenly grow a pair on draft day? Or next year before the deadline?

Seems to me the safe thing to do is to just really put all your focus into the draft and continually add young talent. And then he can keep telling us, "Just wait until [insert rookie here] has a couple years of experience. Then we'll be really good."

If Pritchard is waiting for the no-risk deal to come across his desk, he's in the wrong business.

Yeah! We need someone like Steve Kerr who likes to make deals!! :dunno:

Trading just to make a trade is stupid, you guys know it.

i lost a lot of trust in KP so far today...

comeon, in pritch we trust right? blind fucking trust to pritch. fuck this, we have to call a spade a spade, he dropped the fucking ball here. we're not gonna have the 2009 plan this summer...what, with all this imaginary cap space that was reduced and the shitty FA class?

Which specific trade do you know of that was passed on by KP that would take the Blazers to "the elite level"?

Yippee, we'll acquire 4 moer draft picks in the upcoming draft, he'll "work his magic" on draft day, and we'll have 4 mroe untouchable 12 year olds on our fucking team. Meanwhile, the only PG we have who could fight through a screen will be getting no playing time, and we have no consistent option at SF, because we have one who in 5 years could possibly potentially maybe, perhaps be the next Teyshaun fucking Prince.

Ugh, if Sergio continues to get minutes over Bayless, I might just have to find him and kill him.

Ummm ... Danny Ainge made a significant trade. Mitch Kupchak made a significant trade. Joe Dumars made significant trades. Danny Ferry has made significant trades.

Of course, all those guys either won championships or are well-positioned to win a championship. I can't imagine we'd want to do that. I'd much rather fall in love with all of our young talent.

I'm surprised that someone hasn't said that the Kings are the best team in the NBA now based solely on them being able to make a lot of trades.
