i cant believe that raef and frye for carter and ager was on the table. and he still tried to ask for the gs 1st rounder...thats freaking ridicilous

You cant believe it because you dont know if it was true.

Its not that, we had a real assett and couldn't even upgrade our roster whatsoever. And this cap space people were harping about? doesn't exist either because its crap.

looks like Tom Penn is a little beeyotch. doesn't do shit. cap expert? bullshit. ooh...look at what we did with a HUGE expiring contract. oh well..we have cap room this summer...what? oh yeah, the field sucks ass.

this is our team for a while guys. like it or not.....we're going to just have to rely on the players getting better and more experienced, we're not adding a major piece...i doubt ever.

What do you think is the best deal that KP got and turned down?

Michael MotherFucking Ruffin is my consolation prize. I'm sure that he's better than Channing Frye!!

Pritch could have at least gotten us Steven of Nazereth back to play some defense!!!

I told you guys Rod Thorn cannot be robbed. KP tried to rob Thorn and he failed

Lucky Thorn, still left with VC's contract on a franchise that is hemhorraging money, with a team that is sinking fast, and with a future that looks to be going nowhere. But he wasn't robbed!

They had a deal for RLEC and Frye for Carter and Ager. Both teams areed on those 4 players but KP thought he could steal a draft pick from Thorn so he said no.

This is the shit I'm talking about.

How the FUCK do you know that was on the table?

how would we do that? we;ll have to give up more than we would have right now....meaning we'll be forced to give up young talent instead of washed up, HUGE expiring contracts.

How so? We have cap space to sign presumably a pretty good player. We wouldn't have to give up shit.

Keep in mind guys that ehizzy wants us to retire #30 for Rasheed. That alone says it all. :)

I didn't say anything about cap space. The ability to take on existing contracts in a trade is a more valuable asset in this economy, and the Blazers are saving money right now on RLEC.

The fact that you are so negative about this is actually comforting to me. The last time you went on a KP rampage was the night he pulled the LMA/Roy moves. I was correct then, and I will be correct later on this summer. Just wait.

"more valuable asset" Pritch has shown he can't utilize the "valuable" assets in this economy correctly to make trades happen. If we have valuable assets but can't capitalize, do you think he will be able to make better deals using less valuable assets?

Again. How the FUCK do you know that that's what we had offered to us? Are you just pulling stuff our of your ass or picking up the shit that some random journalist pulled out of his and threw at their computer?

Why don't you calm down #1

And #2 there is no way you can spin KP not using the best trade asset at the deadline for anything at all

According to whom did this occur?

God, you poor bastards need to show a little pride in your goddamn team. For Christ's sake, you're making Blazer fans look like a bunch of morons.

How much cap space and which player specifically? Its not as much as we thought when we made the deals for Steve Francis, which was going to get a top level talent.

I'm still holding on to my shorts, all insiders are retards. make the trades. get the big money players.

blazers in my view have been mediocre, yet they are young...however, I think we're just going to have to wait until the players themselves on this roster improve...we'll make a few moves here and there maybe to get a good contributer off the bench...but our roster is what its going to be for a while.

Blake
Roy
Webster
LMA
Oden

not a bad roster...but we're not going to have any serious upgrades in the foreseeable future.

It was on like 4 different sources on Netsdaily.com but now that he's not getting traded they took them all out so i can't find them and why would i lie about something like that?Ask anyone from that website that read it and they'll tell you

The asset is still valuable in terms of liquidity since the team now keeps over $4 million of RLEC money. Meanwhile, the teams struggling financially will continue to struggle. Meh, I don't see why you're overreacting unless you are only looking at this moment in time and not this summer.

From Hollinger chat on ESPN:

Kyle (pdx, Or): Why didn't the blazers do anything?

SportsNation John Hollinger: (3:19 PM ET ) Because Paul Allen likes saving money too. I had somebody out there tell me over a month ago that they were being tighter than outsiders thought and that they might very well hang on to the Raef deal. I think Pritchard was looking for a homerun and if he couldn't get somebody like Sessions or Carter for free then he would just take his expiring contract and go home.

I actually think this makes a ton of sense. I can live with this logic.

define showing pride? think for yourself. we had a huge expiring contract and couldnt even address one need.

I hate to reiterate myself but I can see us making a play for David Lee or Sessions or both this summer.

What I know is that RLEC was a HUGE asset that went to shit. Expiring contracts are always huge, and this one is being paid by insurance.

we were sitting on gold and its gone.

Well if the rumor is true, I'd ask for a pick too considering how much money Carter is making. $20M is a lot and would have been a big favor for the Nets.

edit - 16M per year

It baffles me that many of the KP haters aren't even considering that trades can and will happen in the summer. It's not solely about being under the cap. Actually, since the Miles incident, the FA upgrade is a bit of a pipe dream unless other teams are too poor to pay large contracts.
