Norm RoCo traded

Do we have enough players to play tonight

what about roco contract (13,000,000) and cj mccollum possibly getting traded

that should be enough to re-sign nurk & ant

we lost 30,000,000 and got 10,000,000 in salary... thats 20,000,000 down

doesn't work that way. Ant isn't getting re-signed right now. Neither is Nurkic

they will have new contract next season. RoCo has an expiring contract so that cap clearance was already on the books. So it then is an equation of Powell's salary vs the combined salaries of Winslow, Johnson, and Bledsoe's guarantee. That's only saving 6.3M in space

Comparing a GM who had a decade to build a roster to a guy who's had that guy's roster issues and just made his first move after a couple of months as interim is a false equilancy....Joe gets to draft and make moves and off season signings without people fobbing Neil's baggage on him. ....let the guy build his roster and next fall...tell me how he did.....just yesterday the people freaking out here today were freaking out over no trades before the deadline....well....Joe is working on our problem...until he's finished, I'm going to support his efforts and see where it leads...if we're worse next fall than this fall then he failed...right now he inherited a failed roster.
If I were conducting a driving test and the driver in question ran a red light 30 seconds in, I wouldn't need to complete the rest of the exam to know that I wasn't going to give that kid their license.

Cronin needs to go back to GM-ed, 'cause he's already failed his first attempt.

I would like to defend this trade...but of course I can't. Head scratcher all the way. Not really a rebuild trade and not at all a trade to make us better now. Not even a 1st round pick which still would have made this trade a fail. Life as a Blazers fan. Sorry guys.

good analogy

Cronin being shit has nothing to do with the fact that it was far past time to fire Neil. Just because Joe seems to have put the car in reverse and Neil left it in neutral for the past five seasons doesn't mean either one of them should have this job. (Again I am going to withhold complete judgment on Joe until the deadline passes)
I didn’t say I wanted Neil.
Hindsight being 50/50, we know the two options are…

Keep Neil until offseason, then fire him.
OR
(Do what we did) and fire him, Cronin interim, and look for a full time GM in the off-season.

Given those are the options, I miss Neil. He never would’ve done this stupid shit.

Sure until the deadline you can't for sure say that this trade is the most shitty trade ever but once that deadline passes on Thursday at noon we will not be able to trade Bledsoe's contract without guaranteeing it. So if we do move some of these pieces in a deal that gets us much bigger and better things than Norm and RoCo by Thursday then yeah there will have been a method to this very obvious madness, after that it's just madness.
There is another trade coming for a player better than either RoCo or Powell, and the other team wanted something that we got in today's trade.

No it didn’t . Please read what I post
yes, you said "whispers." And "Powell's name is swirling."

I could have told you there are more than whispers and similar stuff just based on every article out there.

That's not really much of a hint.

They are gearing up to pay Nurk and Ant....that's why this trade went down. Norm had an attractive contract to shop and CJ didn't. Roco everybody knew was gone...don't know much about the Clippers guys we got but Chauncey sure does.

We got nothing for 2 people who had positive trade value. There's no positive spin on this. We could and should have gotten at LEAST a solid rotation player OR at least a 1st for this year or next year for 2 players who can offer a bunch to contending teams.

But we skirted the tax for someone who had one hot month and an inconsistent center who needs outside motivations to get him to play well.

Fucking stupid thinking from a GM. He better have something in the works or this as a stand alone deal is fucking moronic.

There is no silver lining.

I feel like if the team could have traded RoCo and Norm for cash considerations, they would have done that.

Can people do math in this forum cause the way I see it and let's to keep things SIMPLE l-- Bledsoe's contract is for 19m and only 4

Do your research before saying it's only 6.3 cause that means the Blazers free up 15m

that has nothing to do with the trade that occured here....but I'm glad you'd hold reckless drivers accountable....I don't see Norm or Roco as traffic violations though...and until we tip off next fall...the exam isn't complete...sorry you're so disappointed ....I don't see it that way
Reckless GM's should also be held accountable. Cronin has clearly demonstrated that he should not be permitted to be behind the wheel of this tank.

Everything we got is so bad that it doesn't make sense for someone to want that honestly.

If you were going to make a deal this bad, would you allow anything to leak beforehand?
i would hope so. maybe the ridicule on social media would have prevented him? Or maybe enticed other teams to give up second rounders that aren't 3 yrs away?

I think that you're over the top thinking this way about this trade....we can pay Ant and Nurk now.....couldn't without luxury tax concerns before.

This isn't a positive. Ant isn't proven beyond one month and Nurk is way too inconsistent to count on when we need him.

Nothing positive came from this. Accept it.

He may very well have a clear path towards improving the team without tearing it down to the studs...we'll see.
No excuse for this bad a trade. He has the keys and this is what he does no matter what the circumstance this is one of the worst trades any team in the nba has made in years. Among everything we made made the Clippers better a team we would have to go through in the west. 6 days before the trade deadline and this what happens. I think we should be scared and worried if this guy does anymore moves if this is what he thinks is a solid move. Keon Jhonson is another guard who is shooting 27% from 3....

Do you understand the math behind the 6.3M number that was referenced? Perhaps you should take the time to fully comprehend the opposing position before you use the "do your research" line.
