Might as well amputate. Why not just replace it with a robotic prosthetic?

I hope this doesn’t lead to a roster/role shuffle — and Simons gets more playing time :banghead2:

I actually hope this leads to the roster shuffle I've been begging for forever. No better time to sell high on someone I won't name, in our starting back court, who isn't the Blazers GOAT.

It's pretty concerning that he needed surgery on something that was pretty much a nothing play. He's starting to seem pretty injury prone. The broken leg was a freak accident sure, but he missed the playoffs in his first season here due to an extended injury as well. He's had major injuries in Denver as well. Not sure how much they can hope to depend on him in the future.

He wasn’t going to do much anyways. Get better but it’s time to find a center of the future this dude never plays

"At least."

Thats about 25-30 games and puts us into the second half of the season. If the league pauses as has been hinted, this would obviously reduce the number of games missed

We dont really know what he broke or tore yet. But Karl Towns avoided surgery last March snd is still dealing with it it now. Dude was playing with one hand last game I watched him. Could just be a case of Nurk deciding to take care of it once and for all rather than have it be a recurring issue.

Even if they have surgery, it doesn't mean it won't be a recurring issue.

ie. Zach

I don't trust like 6 guys on this roster.
This team needs stabilization. If Indy is still out to trade Turner, he might be a guy who can make up for our poor perimeter defense.

Here is a great video explaining how Nurkic broke his wrist. Makes more sense now when you see it from the correct angle.

You kind of wonder about play style as an indicator for injury proneness. Literally in the post game for the Sacramento game before this, Nurk was talking about the steal and fastbreak layup he got in that game. Said the coaches don't want him reaching and going for these types of plays because he's a center, but Nurk said that's just who he is, so he's going to continue going for these types of plays. Next game - goes for a similar reach - breaks his wrist. Freak accident? Maybe, but damned if it's not unlucky.

The good news is this is his wrist. He'll be able to get into basketball shape aerobically (he hadn't quite yet) by doing a heavy dose of conditioning. It's not a leg or shoulder injury that requires immobilization of a part of the lower body or a large joint.

I sure hope he hits it hard. If he is gonna come back it would be tough to see him need two to three weeks again to get into shape.

it's Portland, it's a big man, so, "at least 8 weeks" = next season
