It was today? Shit, I wanted him to win so I was going to get HCP to wait at the finish line nude. Oh wait, I meant at the starting line.

Well done KS!
Hey guys. I'm running the NYC Marathon again on November 1st. This time around, I will be running for the Parkinson's Foundation. Once everything is set up, I will let you know how you can donate.
I've run 11 miles in a Fitness Appreciation class in college but I've never ran 22 miles. Not much help to you, though.Hey guys. Just found out I got in. I wanted to do this but I'm scared. I was kinda hoping I wouldn't get in. Has anyone here ever run a marathon before? Advice?
Hot gas with the electrons no longer associated with their atoms? Makes for great super conductive electricity but I don't see how this is going to help a marathon. Try it and let me know how it turns out. I'm curious. Can I donate plasma?
I love fine wines. So far, my favorite is Chateaux Latour's Saint Emilion. I did once have a sweet Mondavi Chenin Blanc that was chilled and so good it was to die for. Love Napa valley reds and Columbia Winery's Red Willow Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (great bang for the buck). Also very fond of Dom Perignon which I get at Costco.I'm hopefully going back to school in enology and viticulture (winemaking and vineyard management and other wine-related gigs). I'd like to change fields and hopefully start my own winery in the future.
Home of Whitman College. My high school counselor graduated from Whitman and tried to convince me to spend my first two years in engineering school at Whitman.Work out?!? Sounds more like you're being punished.

I don't like fava beans.Perhaps, with a side of fava beans?

That post was from 2015. I've since run two marathons. You could do it too if you wanted. It's not as hard as it sounds. You just need to train.I've run 11 miles in a Fitness Appreciation class in college but I've never ran 22 miles. Not much help to you, though.
I've heard it said that you should stock up on carbohydrates the day before such as spaghetti.
It's physically impossible for me to do it. I am a dialysis patient and it's all I can do to get in and out of my wheelchair. When I was in my 50s, yes, I could do it. But now I'm in my 70s and live pretty much in a wheel chair. That post was from 2015. I've since run two marathons. You could do it too if you wanted. It's not as hard as it sounds. Lanny my friend, you've been competing in the Iron Man competition and you are winning sir! Keep it up.It's physically impossible for me to do it. Before my kidneys failed, I could have lectured on physical activity. I worked out extremely strenuously for 12 1/2 hours a week concentrating on aerobic activity. Now, my heavy breathing comes when I spot a pretty woman.
If I went down the list of my present physical ailments you'd marvel that I'm still alive. I take about 2 dozen pills every day. I use nose sprays and eye drops several times a day. I take blood tests and shots several times a day. I send in my vitals one or two times a day. I sleep with a machine that aids my breathing. I have a partially paralyzed diaphragm. Then there's the cancer. I'm not even going into the over two dozen surgeries, the blindness in one eye, the insomnia, the allergies, the gout, the arthritis, the heart arrhythmia and the thyroid hormone deficiency.
I've been in the emergency room at least a dozen times. One time the fire department responded to my wife's 911 call and they saved my life with an IV while I was unconscious. I've spent a total of 4 weeks in intensive care on two occasions.
On one occasion, my blood pressure, where I have a chronic problem, was down to 39. on another occasion my blood sugar was down to 28.
If I could run a marathon it would be a true miracle and I truly would be the luckiest man alive. Wish I could do that.
Getting old ain't for wimps.
At one time I could have. I use to bike everywhere, swim every day (I biked to the lake to go swimming and worked out like a dog. Now, I'm but a distant shell. My occupational therapist and physical thereapist claim I have great upper body strength but I protested that wild eyed claim.Lanny my friend, you've been competing in the Iron Man competition and you are winning sir! I use to love to fish and hunt in difficult terrain but alas that was when I had kidney function.
You are too kind even when you joke about any fantasized physical prowess I may yet have.
There's a serious problem with my muscular stamina. When I come home from dialysis, all I want to do is lay down, have a honey laced cup of tea, and later, take a nap. I'm wiped out for the day.Thats impressive you always worked out! I was a runner for years and along wit bad genes it messed up my knees.
Are you able to sit in a chair/couch and move your legs in a peddle motion?
I used this when I was recovering from my knee replacements.
My friend who has vascular dementia bough one and he loves it as he can peddle and watch a movie or while visiting with friends.

Your fortitude and perseverance has created your great character of person! There's a serious problem with my muscular stamina. When I come home from dialysis, all I want to do is lay down, have a honey laced cup of tea, and later, take a nap. I'm wiped out for the day.
When I use the toilet, take a shower, brush my teeth and get dressed I'm totally wiped out and I even sit down in the shower and when brushing my teeth. My wife has to help me dress.
My occupational therapist has given me some exercises that involve a band for most of them and some material much like silly putty for my hands and forearms. I've also been encouraged to use my whell chair as much as possible. Rolling myself along our hardwood floors is easy but rolling over the carpeted areas is very tough.
You are entirely too kind but keep it up and I'll buy you lunch and drinks and feel lucky to do so.Your fortitude and perseverance has created your great character of person!
I appreciate your kindness and toughness!
