So woopy do. His opinions do not offend me as they shouldn't anyone else. It's just his opinions. So when does Duck Dynasty set our moral compass. We live in the land of the free, if anyone wants to voice his opinion he is the one that has to live with it. We are so politically correct we can't get out of our own way. One of the most entertaining shows on TV is Newsroom, the lead character is a modern day Walter Cronkite, below is a 8 minute clip of what America is in my opinion, give it the time and you will love it.

...to be honest, I've never watched on minute of the show but people are so uptight nowadays...not about what someone actually DOES, but what someone SAYS.

...and another thing, I'm really tire of gays going out of their way of flaunting their preference. Geez, can't you just keep it to yourselves? I mean, do I go around flapping my arms and proclaiming "Hey, I'm a heterosexual"?...no, I don't. And why?...because it's irrelevant and no one gives ashit.

...gays, native American Indians, dwarfs, fat people, etc., please, just get over yourselves and stfu.

WAIT!.......................................................................you're heterosexual?

^^^that's the vicious rumor that people are spreading...and that's profiling!...my feelings are hurt, I think I'll sue.

It could be worse you could be one them, what do they call them?.......Trans-testicles.

I am beyond infuriated about this... He was asked a direct question on what he believed regarding homosexuality... he answered... it wasn't like he just started talking about it for no reason... and Phil and his family are by far the most popular show on A&E and could very easily (and SHOULD) take their show elsewhere... I love the show, but this is just absurd. Anyone who saw a second of the show would have known how he (or anyone on the show) would have answered the question he was baited with.... I stand with Phil

I agree 100% Steve. People are just WAAAY to sensitive. They need to remember 2 VERY important things, #1 If you can't deal with honest answers don't ask the questions. And #2 opinions are like assholes, EVERYBODY has one.

Not just that... but A&E is "preaching" about how everyone needs to be more tolerant and accepting and yet they fired Phil for not believing what they believe... isn't that being intolerant of anothers belief right there by doing that??? The liberal ideals are so unbelievably hypocritical

...^^^what he said.

Another way of saying it.... Phil just said it was a sin and wrong, he didn't profess hatred of any kind... essentially, all he said was it was wrong... and A&E is saying he's wrong... so how is it ok for A&E to tell someone they are wrong, but not Phil to tell someone they are wrong (in an interview in which he was directly asked a question...)

Well for one thing its their network so they can do as they please. Is it hypercritcal...hell yeah. ..but they can do what they want.

Well, I hope like hell that the Robertson family stops filming Duck Dynasty as they have hinted at and take their show to another network. A&E doesn't have any other highly rated show... so they'll be hurting without it.... they next best show is either storage wars or dog the bounty hunter... without Duck Dynasty, they are done...

In case anyone was wondering, the family did release an official statement... http://duckcommander.com/news/robertson-family-offical-statement saying:

"We want to thank all of you for your prayers and support. The family has spent much time in prayer since learning of A&E's decision. We want you to know that first and foremost we are a family rooted in our faith in God and our belief that the Bible is His word. While some of Phil’s unfiltered comments to the reporter were coarse, his beliefs are grounded in the teachings of the Bible. Phil is a Godly man who follows what the Bible says are the greatest commandments: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart” and “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Phil would never incite or encourage hate. We are disappointed that Phil has been placed on hiatus for expressing his faith, which is his constitutionally protected right. We have had a successful working relationship with A&E but, as a family, we cannot imagine the show going forward without our patriarch at the helm. We are in discussions with A&E to see what that means for the future of Duck Dynasty. Again, thank you for your continued support of our family."

lol, what a bunch of tripe in this thread.

it's pretty amazing to me the total lack of cognizance anyone here is displaying when it comes to tolerance. Robertson had a right to say what he believed; the rest of the nation also has a right to say that he's a racist and a bigot. how this escapes EVERYONE'S attention here is the height of hilarity.

Even though your opinion may not be shared by many here (so far none) you still have the right to it. Like I said earlier, opinions are like assholes...EVERYBODY has one. How THAT! escapes your attention is also hilarious.

...your very first post, and that was the best you could come up with?...for that, I award you NO points. But to be fair, I understand that all that energy you exerted while creating your user name ("kramerica industries" spelled backwards) probably sapped you of any "cognitive" thinking.

...and sorry, but don't presume to speak for "the rest of the country". You fail to realize that Robertson's views are the same as millions of Christians' beliefs which are based on the New Testament...does that, by default, make those people "Bigots" and "racists"?

...this totally unnecessary shit storm has given the Robertsons more publicity than ever before, and if you think their show in one form or another won't eventually return to TV, you're sadly mistaken.

Really, tolerance is when I read anything from you. What some people are pointing out is the hypocrisy like Hammer pointed out.

Phil Robertson is the latest in a long lineup of politically incorrect targets of the left's sensitivity mob. The gay & lesbian alliance against defamation (GLAAD) gangsta's won't stop until both the cultural & legal enforcement of their agenda are the norm.

Phil Robertson was suspended for expressing his biblical views. Asked (I repeat ASKED) what he viewed as sinful, Robertson drew on the condemnation of sexual immorality in Corinthians 6:9, citing "adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, and the swindlers. They won't inherit the kingdom of God".

So his transgression? Responding HONESTLY to a question posed to him. This was not an unsolicited "anti-gay rant", it was a response & abiding by his christian faith.

GLAAD should better be known as TWOTHW (Their way or the highway). Lighten up people.

FWIW, my view is he can say or think what he likes. A&E is a business, they have to do what's best for the shareholders. A&E has no obligation to give anyone a megaphone.

He said what he said, now he has to live with the consequences.

...but again, in the long run, there won't really be any consequences. They've already made a ton of money and will soon make even more...someone will gladly pick up where A & E left off.

He answered a question based on his religious beliefs and is being persecuted for it. It's as simple as that.

Or... since his beliefs are different than what his employer's his employer's decided they no longer wanted to employee him.

This really should not be a big deal imo.

Smart business people know when not to say anything that their employers may not want to hear.

A&E's problem is that there's a good chance 10-15% of the population won't consider watching their network right now. Then there's people who don't like the bigotry who are straight who would boycott the network. Not only the network, but the sponsors.

^^^ those kinds of people weren't likely watching that show anyway so I doubt the network or its sponsors will be adversely affected.

...and even the ones that do will probably offset by NEW viewers who are now intrigued by the recent publicity.

They may watch other shows on the network though.

how is he a racist? how is he a bigot? he simply stated what the bible says... and that he believes it... that does not make him racist. That does not make him a bigot. That does not make him a homophobe (no such real thing anyway, but I digress) What it makes him, is right.

I couldn't agree more Rick! such hypocrisy and TWOTHW mentality... screw them and screw Charlie Sheen for jumping in on this now against Phil...

Exactly! it violates his freedom of religion AND it violates his freedom of speech...

BUT, they knew exactly who he and his family were when they started the show... they have known all along... so that is bs
