Politics ObamaCare Sicker Shock

You keep using anecdotal evidence. My neighbors aren't fat therefore nobody is.

The science is wrong, they're not surveying me and my friends. Etc.

A buddy of mine is a college professor. He says that over the years his typical student went from healthy weight to looking fat. How's that?

Babies are actually being born obese - something that is a new phenomenon.

I have no interest in the government telling the suckers who don't watch their diet how to kill themselves while jacking up ObamaCare rates and taxes to pay for the damages.
I call it like I see it....I worked many years in Oregon seeing hundreds of Oregonians a day....the majority were not obese by a large margin....call it an anecdote but I call it observation...I see more obese people where food is sold. The charts of obese people are for the most part skewed by the diet of people in the deep south where they fry butter for breakfast.

Not at all.

Health-care exchange sign-ups fall far short of forecasts

Enrollment in the insurance exchanges for President Obama’s signature health-care law is at less than half the initial forecast, pushing several major insurance companies to stop offering health plans in certain markets because of significant financial losses.

As a result, the administration’s promise of a menu of health-plan choices has been replaced by a grim, though preliminary, forecast: Next year, more than 1 in 4 counties are at risk of having a single insurer on its exchange, said Cynthia Cox, who studies health reform for the Kaiser Family Foundation.

Debate over how perilous the predicament is for the Affordable Care Act, commonly called Obamacare, is nearly as partisan as the divide over the law itself. But at the root of the problem is this: The success of the law depends fundamentally on the exchanges being profitable for insurers — and that requires more people to sign up.

I hadnt has strep since i was a kid and ever since obamacare came out i got strep throat AND the flu. THEY TOOK OUR HEALTH!

Ever since Obamacare was passed, every single year, without exception, I get older.

It's not working! You can look at Obama himself, he's getting older too!

Some healthcare system this turned out to be. If things keep going on like this, we'll all be dead.

barfo

If it keeps going like this, we'll have to grow more money trees for the free health insurance many get, and to keep Medicare from going broke.

Grow old. Good for you. Good luck if you need real care.

And giving...

Obamacare Premiums Set to Rise, Even for Savvy Shoppers
In the last few years, even though premiums in the Affordable Care Act’s health insurance marketplaces were rising, most customers could avoid a big price rise by shopping for a cheaper plan.

Next year, according to a preliminary analysis, that is going to be a lot harder.

Even someone who shopped wisely this year and is willing to switch plans to get the best deal next year is looking at an average premium increase of 11 percent, according to an analysis of rate filings in 18 states and the District of Columbia provided by the McKinsey Center for U.S. Health System Reform.

That’s more than double the increase McKinsey measured last year for the same plans in the same group of states.

Good to know we live in a country where long existing drugs like insulin aren't price gouged out of control that most lower middle class family could afford them. Because I mean, it would be kind crazy for people to spend all their retirement or personal saving for what used to be covered by basic health plans only to suffer more in this wonderful country we've created.

Lifewise and Moda pulling out of Beautiful Central Oregon after December, leaving us with a choice of some unheard of internet-only provider and a guy named Feliz who has a shack with a table saw down by the river trail.

When the payer has deep pockets, the payee will charge as much as they can get away with.

Seeing a lot of people are getting their notices right about now. haha

It's all in good fun to debate this like a political football until you're one of the poor saps like me who has to be covered through this disaster of a program and makes just more than the subsidy income line. We're one of the families that Bill Clinton said Obamacare's "the craziest thing in the world". Our payments this year for my wife and I are more than our mortgage. We've already been notified by Moda that our current plan will no longer be offered. If the new plan costs 22% more than last year's bloated mess, I'm going to have to make some tough choices. I've got one more year of this crap before we qualify for Medicare. I'm not sure how we're going to afford nearly $2,000 a month for shitty coverage.

Jesus Christ dude, that is horrible.

But you can keep your doctor. Oh wait, they meant if you add your mortgage payment and your medical plan monthly payment you could afford the house next to him.
