I never put much faith in those. I mean both Chicago teams have nice little clubs but IMO they're placed way to high on that list.

Scratching my head, where do "they" have Boston tied for the 3rd best odds with that pitching staff of theirs? (chuckle)

Also - I know the objective is to win the WS and NOT how many wins a team has but, as a Yankee fan, I think it'll be kinda interesting to see how many (if any) of those teams with better odds win less games than the Yankees.

...try the Red Sox boards...I'm sure you'll get some takers.

Hey Rick, I know its just crazy odds, but was SF in a better odds position than the Bums, I can't see this morning?

Not...............:lipssealed::rocky:

I'll throw my two cents on about Boston. In a weak division and what some feel is a weak AL. People feel even with average pitching they can slug their way to a playoff spot. That being said Vegas would love for a popular fan base like that to throw tons of money at the Red Sox. Hence the intriguing odds placed by the sports book.

We're not allowed to talk about that but, No. Now.........................don't tell Tom.:grim:

Nationals are primed to win it this year you would think. They're loaded when healthy and there seems to be a lot of weakness around the league as opposed to juggernauts.

Can you YELL that, I can't hear you ????? You mean about the Great Wall of China????

BTW- did you see the odds for Frisco??????? Go Giants, I mean Bums.....I mean Donnie BB....!:notworthy2::rockon::rocky::rocky::smiley-eek2:

...gotta believe that if the Sox don't get off to a fast start and/or that their current starters exhibit suckage, you'll see them cave in and trade for Hamels.

I could certainly see that as Hamels landing spot.

I can't see Boston being rated so high with that very questionable pitching staff.

Yep.
Of course, the "odds" are set by the amount of money coming in on one team or another.

If a trillion people are betting on a particular team, the odds makers obviously have to set some "parameters" in order to improve their chances of winning-

"odds"!

...Boston has a very formidable offense, especially at Fenway...true, they currently don't have a shutdown ace, but as long as all of their pitchers don't flat out suck, the Sox will be tough.

Bingo Vic.......

I've often wondered why Vegas bookies don't publish their MLB earinings, ya' know there in business to take money, from fools who would bet for Boston, or the Giants to repeat.....

(the latter is for Rick's sake)......

Rick, do you need me to send you a case of Kleenex, for when you watch those Giants games??? You can in return send me some, when the Bums lose (again) to the Cards.

I just don't see the Cubs being competitive to win the NL Central Pennat, tho' I like their odds next year maybe......they need to start Kris Bryant at 3rd NOW, but he's sent back to AAA ball, where he hit 43 HR's b/t AAA and AA, last year. That kid is ready for the big show, and had a good ST......

... those odds were pretty much the same all along. Now if a ton of people starting betting strongly on any team, Vegas oddsmakers may adjust things at that time.

Masterson is their # 3 SP?
Bullpen?

I think, imo, as of NOW the Yanks have a better P staff.
Yanks aren't the only team with a few question marks.

...Bryant will be called back up in 12 days.

...with all of the health concerns and questions betweens the 2 staffs, at this point I'd take the Sox staff over the Yanx...as far as the BP, as I've pointed out multiple times, what damned good does a good BP do if your starters can't get you to the 7th inning?...the Yanx BP will likely be burnt out by August.

Yep, it's called "line changes", "odds go up" .....or "down".....depending.
Could be some " late money" coming in on some other team and the "adjustment" will reflect it.

What the heck are we doing? lol
We already know this.

Go Yanks!

The AL East, I just don't see Buck making another ALCS, but then I may wind up eating those words. They got to the CS without Machado, Wieters, and Davis......I imagine they could repeat, or not... I can't see the Jays or Rays to be a contender either.....as for Boston, see below***(1)

Honestly IMO, the AL Central, and NL Central will have a helluva a year, as parity has set in, more with the AL Central than the NL. IMO......

***(1) - I bet Porcello winds up with a more Losses than Wins this year, as he did in 2012 and 2010. Fenway will eat Porcello up. I expect the Bosox Pitching staff, to be the weakness of this Team, who should have a decent to solid Defense, and a pretty good Offense. It will be interesting to see how Hanley Ramirez does this year. He was once a player who could carry a team for a month with his bat, but I've not seen that Hanley in ages. NTM he's a time bomb, waiting to sit on the DL. (see below)***(2)

(2)
2011 93 Games Played
2012 64 "---------------"
2013 86 "---------------"
2014 128 "---------------"

I won't dissect either of the 2 Sox teams, but I think they look better on paper, than they will in the standings at seasons end.

...but the amount of money bet is not the only factor.

Thanks 59, I did not know that, and its good to hear, the kid has some power, NTM Soler in RF, reminds me of a cross b/t Vlad Guerrero and Andre Dawson.....

Yet I know little about the Cubs SP staff, (haven't looked at their entire Minors to Majors stats), and only saw one Cubs game this ST.

I never really understood why the Phillies traded Shane Victorino, the kid has a Gun for an arm. I recollect watching a few ST Phils games, when Shane was trying to make the Roster and Did......
