"That would be a dynamic group." - @cjmccollum on playing w @dame_lillard #RipCityDraft

Casey Holdahl ‏@CHold 2m
McCollum said @Dame_Lillard was going to come watch McCollum's workout, but ended up at Summer Jam with @wale in Oakland

Trail Blazers ‏@pdxtrailblazers 1m
CJ said his workout with Portland was "middle of the pack" in terms of performance #RipCityDraft

Mike Tokito ‏@mtokito 1m
C.J. McCollum comes off as very well spoken. Impressive session with media. #Blazers

Casey Holdahl ‏@CHold 1m
McCollum says you can tell when a team is especially interested during an interview when the team stops asking question

Trail Blazers ‏@pdxtrailblazers 51s
"Dame's fearless, nothing really fazes him. That's how I like to approach the game." - @cjmccollum #RipCityDraft

Joe Freeman ‏@BlazerFreeman 34s
I'm no talent evaluator, but I can say this about C.J. McCollum: He'd be a great addition to #Blazers locker room from media perspective

Joe Freeman ‏@BlazerFreeman 33s
McCollum is engaging, impressive and polished during interviews. If his game is as on point as his interview skills, he'd be a steal at 10

Candace Buckner ‏@blazerbanter 38s
C.J. McCollum said that he's been in contact with Damian Lillard for a yr & a half. Texted Dame b4…

Trail Blazers ‏@pdxtrailblazers 28s
McCollum said he doesn't compare himself to one player but takes bits & pieces of players' games, such as Steph, J Jack & Dame #RipCityDraft

Joe Freeman ‏@BlazerFreeman 48s
McCollum said he had plans to meet with #Blazers owner Paul Allen and the rest of the team's front office later today.

Candace Buckner ‏@blazerbanter 1m
And as @mtokito has pointed out, McCollum answered me twice with a "yes ma'am." This girl clearly has to start dying the grays in her hair

Candace Buckner ‏@blazerbanter 14s
Though McCollum said he believes he's already proven that his foot (which he broke senior yr) is healthy, teams still want 2 see him jumping

Candace Buckner ‏@blazerbanter 36s
More McCollum on previous broken foot: “You see me cutting, running, jumping and shooting off the dribble, so I put that to rest now.”

Well, who knows what will happen June 27 but there were smiles & good body language @ the end of workout among #Blazer honchos

Joe Freeman ‏@BlazerFreeman 3m
C.J. McCollum said he can be "chameleon" and has ability to play PG or SG - welcomes opportunity to play alongside #Blazers PG @Dame_Lillard

Joe Freeman ‏@BlazerFreeman 2m
What would McCollum/Lillard backcourt look like for #Blazers? McCollum: "I think that would be a very dynamic group.

Lillard and McCollum sound like they would be an exciting back court, until you stop and think about how bad defensively the Blazers were last year . . . undersized combo guard who weakness is defense might not be the best addtition to the Blazer roster.

Larkin recorded one of the highest vertical leaps ever at the draft combine with a 44-inch running jump. He was not far behind Trey Burke in terms of being a team leader and floor general on the college level and there are a number of scouts that actually prefer Larkin to Burke as a prospect.

I guess it depends on a few things starting with Dame's improvement on defense. The match up that night. The time of the game. The pace of the game. Can we switch Nic over if needed? And obviously do we have someone to get their back in the paint?

VIDEO: @CJMcCollum discusses his solo workout with the Trail Blazers #RipCityDraft http://on.nba.com/190I7Vi

After watching it I can see why he was so well liked. Its nice to see a guy who doesnt stumble through the process. And you can tell his knowledge of the game is legit and thorough. Its also not hard to see why people compare him to Dame. It makes it easy to get wrapped up in liking him

I still like this guy.

Boy, there are so many different ways they could go with the pick if they keep it, glad i don't have to make the pick.

I think CJ will be available at #10

It seems like the same conversation that all of our conversations end up at. This team is going to have to take chances to get where we want. It worked on Dame. Are we willing to roll the dice again and that kind of player?

Driver in black SUV waves at me as I walk to car. It's Neil Olshey, w/CJ McCollum in passenger seat.

SMOKE and MIRRORS! Olshey is pretty good man! Ironically he makes it known that CJ is on his radar. Then when he is picked up from a team before us, we use it to grab the actual player we really want. LEN!!!!!

We need to pair Damian with a SG who is a good defender. If that's not McCollum, then he's not the answer no matter how dynamic the duo is on offense.

We need to pair LaMarcus (since we are probably keeping him) with a good post defender. Will there be one available @10? Would the Blazers be willing to trade up for one?

there are a lot of combo guards available in this league who do what CJ does, while there are very few bigs, do we really want to spend this pick when on a 6'3-6'4" combo guard when there are some C's that are raw but have big time potential? Plus we already have Wes, I don't wanna go combo guard, only SG I would take it Olapido and he won't be there at 10.

I like the way U think amigo!

You do know that Len wont be there at #10, right?

He's in the convo for the #1 pick. I don't think he gets past PHX or New Orleans.

In other words -- trading up is our only hope for Len.

That's what I'm hoping for. I am also hoping we trade Matthews for a higher round pick and cap relief.

Trade Matthews to draft Len. Then you have 2 project centers (both wanting PT) and no starting center or SG.
Excellent. Then we finish our rebuild in next year's draft lottery and free agent crop. :)

I was hoping that we move Batum to SG, then sign someone like Korver as back-up. Trade Leonard and #10 for Gortat and protected 2014 first rounder. Resign Hickson for 6 mil and Maynor for 2.5 mil.

All would work if Matthews is traded.

Starting Line-up: Lillard, Batum, Claver, Aldridge, Gortat
Back-ups: Len, Hickson, Maynor, Korver, Freeland, and Barton.

And if Gortat isn't working, he is expiring and we could use him to trade with a lotto team for their first rounder in a much deeper draft.

The problem here is mathews isn't enough to get into a high lottery pick and #10 and leonard is way to much for Gortat and a pick we wont get for years.

I guess I'll be the voice of dissent....

I LOVE the idea of a Lillard-McCollum-Matthews 3 guard lineup. Any 2 could play together. I feel that several people here are underestimating the impact of having 2 ball-handlers in the game together. I feel like this lineup could be effective immediately.

However, I HATE the idea of McCollum starting next to Lillard. If you're looking for a future starting 2, I'd go with the Pope. Pope as a starting 2 wouldn't be viable for a while.

It's weird that people are talking about trading the draft pick in the draft thread - it would be better to use another thread.

Here's a prospect impressing in draft workouts: Arizona forward Grant Jerrett. Only 19, he's rising on team boards. Great range, 6-foot-10.
