Tennessee, Kansas State and West Virginia. Tennessee is my team if you were unaware. I watch every SEC game that's on TV. I may not watch the WCC much, but I know my college hoops.
 
Who else do you like for Okie State? They have another player that can ball.
 
Nash? I like their other guard Brown too. Their big white center Jurich was originally committed to Tennessee.

IMO you can have two high-level PG's and make it work, like Golden State.

It works because Steph Curry is extremely effective playing as an off-ball SG. Can't say that for most PGs.
 
Something Lillard does well.

He doesn't have much to work with considering the backup PG's consists of Nolan Smith and Ronnie Price.
 
Nerlens Noel of Kentuky, if drafted, will be the worst free throw shooter in the history of the nba. He looks like he's taking half court shots for a Toyota out there.
 
Noel is basically Larry Sanders. I wouldn't take him with a top 5 pick.

In this draft hes absolutely a top 5 pick IMO. Sort of reminds me of Josh Smith. Far from a franchise guy, but looks like he could be a real nice two way player.

Meh. I don't like the Smith comparison. One of the reasons that Smith is good is because he can handle the rock and create in a variety of ways. I don't see that with Noel. I do like his spring though. Guy can get off the floor super quick.

I don't see the Smith comparison either, and I also understand your comparison to Sanders.

I watched the UK/Ole Miss game with someone that doesn't follow college ball or the draft, and when I told him that Noel was a #1 pick candidate, he thought I was joking. The term "one trick pony" was tossed around a lot during the game. Not to take anything from someone's opinion that doesn't watch NCAA ball, but it's interesting none the less to get a casual fan's opinion, knowing they don't have any biases or preconceived expectations.

Thinking about Ole Miss though, they're about to come crashing down to reality going into Gainesville on Saturday. They'll make the tournament, but this is going to be a rough week for them.

In terms of their draft prospects though, Marshall Henderson is very polarizing and fun to watch, but he's got little to no chance at playing on the NBA level. That's been clear for a while, but tonight just reaffirmed it with his shot selection. The two players that I see with outside shots at the pro's from Ole Miss are Murphy Holloway and Reggie Buckner. Holloway's got the numbers, but I think Buckner's going to be one of those guys that goes undrafted, does well in the Euro/D-League ranks, and surfaces for as a productive 10-day contract guy. I'm biased, because I played against Reggie in the Memphis leagues growing up, but trying to remove myself from the situation, I still think that he has all of the complimentary intangibles that make for being a good role player. He's like a bigger, less athletic version of DeMarre Carroll. He'd be a great center in a foreign league, but if he decides to go the D-League route, I can easily see him getting a 10-day contract as a specialist.

ive watched a few UK games and noel is pretty spectacular imo, he has every tool you could ask for, he is going to be as good as he wants to be
 
I like him overall as a prospect, but a major red flag for me is that he seems to be poor finishing around the rim despite his athleticism. No touch around the rim that you're accustomed to seeing from guys who played ball their whole lives. Could be very limiting at the next level.

yeah his offense isnt impressive at UK, but i just get a sense he is going to be able to match up with people in the nba from day one, and jump over people, not sure why. it really is going to depend on his aggressiveness, if he is shy with the ball, he will be marginal
 
The only projected top 10 recruit that I haven't had the chance to watch is Otto Porter. Everything that I seem to read about him is that he's this years version of MKG. A guy who can change the game defensively. I'm going to make it a point to tune into one of his games within the next couple weeks.

Another one I will just never understand Isaiah Austin being projected as a lottery player at this point. The dude is a bag of bones. He relies on the jumpshot because he will get tossed around inside. I hope he doesn't come out this year, stays a year or two longer at Baylor and his the buffet line and the weight room.
 
Looking unlikely that we'll get a 1st round pick this year. It's top 12 protected, and I think we'll be at the very bottom of the lottery. This year is good as any to give it up though.

I'm pretty stoked (and Jazz fans are furious) that the Warriors' tank brigade worked out last year and we get to give the Jazz an early 20's pick in this garbage draft.

Trey Burke could go top-10 according to Ford.

Damn, looks like he'll be out or reach.
 
If we have a top 10 pick in this years draft, Burke better be the 100%, beyond reasonable doubt, clear cut best player available after all is said and done with combines and such. Because there is 3 potentially good NBA 2 guards projected to go in the top 10.
