Jonathan Givony on Twitter was talking to someone on Twitter about how Orlando at 2 could take Burke if they really liked him. That would cause McLemore and Oladipo to drop a bit, i wonder if that would help in us trying to trade up for Oladipo?

Larkin's elite speed and court-vision has him on the rise. No longer the late first steal I had hoped for.

He thinks Saric has a real chance going #10.

I've only seen his highlight video, he's a good shot-blocker, dunker and surprisingly, good at making all kinds of tip-ins around the basket.

Analysis: It's difficult to tell whether Gobert's surprise appearance at the combine helped or hurt his draft stock. His standing reach of 9-foot-7 was the longest ever recorded at the combine. It's pretty easy to see what a player with his length could do to protect them rim. However, Gobert seemed a bit out of shape and his athleticism actually ranked dead last at the combine. While it is possible Gobert could go considerably higher than this, there also are a lot of scouts who think he's grossly overrated as a prospect and actually like Brazilian Lucas Noguiera better. We're splitting the difference here at No. 19, but it's very possible that Noguiera could be the pick for Cleveland instead." - Ford

I didn't even read it, I'll read your own analysis after you watch his video.

Ouch!

Ford has moved Jeff Withey over Olynyk in his top-100.

Did Kelly piss in his Cheerios or something?

Chad Ford's mock final mock of last year, 'Mock 10.2' had 4 picks right out of 29.

Why Chad Ford Got it So Wrong

At least the Court is reasonably predictable. In theory, the justices are bound by years of precedent, their own restraint, and some logic.

NBA general managers have no such shackles. A team like the Toronto Raptors can inexplicably reach for a player like Terrence Ross, because, well…it’s still unclear. Or trade their pick because the player they coveted slipped off the board. And unlike the Court, an NBA executive is too happy to talk to the media ahead of the draft, often to mislead analysts and throw off the scent of which player they actually plan to draft.

It’s understandable that would-be draft prognosticators might want to revise their predictions, or that they deserve a margin of error. But ESPN’s Ford is the grandmaster of the “throwing-stuff-against-the-wall-to-see-if-it-sticks” forecasting model.

In the past six weeks, Ford did about 15 different iterations of his mock draft, all the way up to “Mock Draft version 10.2,” which he filed as the draft began. To Ford’s credit, Version 10.2 accurately predicted that the New Orleans Hornets would select consensus #1 pick Anthony Davis.

It was just the rest of the draft that gave him trouble…you know, the part where Ford accurately projected only four* of the next 29 draft picks — that the Boston Celtics would pick damaged-goods big man Jared Sullinger, and that the three best point guards in the draft would go to the three teams that needed them

* This is being generous. Ford thought that the Celtics would draft Sullinger; they did, but not at the pick that he expected.

So while I have pity for Ford, and other analysts like him, I’m again befuddled why they spend so much time on something so pointless. Eh — page views, I suppose. It’s predictable.

I've only seen him once, Mick Zagger saw him many times. He's a bit too vanilla, IMO, very skilled for a player his size but I'm not sure he has what it takes to be an inside player and putting him at SF kind of cancels his advantages. I get Zagger's Dirk comparison but I think that's extremely optimistic.

NBA Combine Storylines, Part Two - Who Stood Out, and Who Didn't
...
Kelly Olynyk – Olynyk was one of the more highly regarded prospects to elect to participate in all basketball activities, and it wasn't difficult to tell why when watching him in the drills. Olynyk is one of the most skilled players in this draft class, looking capable of doing a little bit of everything on the floor. He's an excellent ball-handler for his size, capable of making shots with his feet set or off the dribble, is extremely rangy and unpredictable with his moves, and also proved to be a fairly adept passer. Olynyk measured a poor wingspan and didn't test very well athletically, but there are few big men in this draft with his fluidity and versatility.

Sounds like a guy who should be moving down 10 spots....

Anyone else REALLY intrigued with Larkin's potential as a 3rd guard, major change of pace guy?

Elite speed, shooting and ability to run the p&r, he'd be huge for this bench.

Don't we already have a draft Olynyk thread?

FWIW, Gobert is very similar in build to what Sam Bowie was.

Bowie: 7'1" 235 lbs 7'5" wing span
Gobert: 7'2" 238 lbs 7'9" wing span

Then we should pick the best SG available after he's picked.

I think I can live with Alex Len if that's the way things shake out.

That's why you don't complete the trade until you see what you end up with. I'm not sure Len is the answer, but he seems like a good fit and as promising as anyone else we are going to get.

in summation (I'm behind the times) is it hope of Trading up for Oladipo (Wes & #10 to Charlotte) or trade out?
