Re: OFFICIAL 2014 Around the NBA thread

What a crazy ass league this is! Suns lose to bulls, thunder smacked around by jazz and we lose to sorry ass kings.....I love this game!

Re: OFFICIAL 2014 Around the NBA thread

Warriors-Nets: Battle of head coaches who are #2 and #3 all-time in assists.

Re: OFFICIAL 2014 Around the NBA thread

SI reporting Gary Neal may be on the block.

A former Spur (so you know he buys into playing defense and team ball), shooting 42% on 3s, making around $3 million.

Worth a look?

OR, maybe he doesn't buy into playing defense and team ball which is why he was traded?

But yes. The issue with Neal is he doesn't really fit in Mil. However, he would be a great back up to Wes in Portland's system, and I wouldn't mind trading Barton or Claver for his services. The bucks could use a SF.

Re: OFFICIAL 2014 Around the NBA thread

Indiana falls to a Horford-less Atl. The NBA is coming back down to earth.

So how'd that work out?

AK-47 stealing the ball from Iggy?

KG stealing from Curry?

Ouch. Some win streak records weren't meant to be broken.

More likely, it was because of cap concerns.

I agree he would be a very good back-up for Wes. Someone here once called him "Wes Mathews Lite."

I was kidding with the rhetorical question. :( No one gets my stuff.

It was a great streak during one of the best road trips in NBA history.

You can bash it, but it just makes you look insecure and pathetic.

Don't let them troll you BJM.

Re: OFFICIAL 2014 Around the NBA thread

Love 4-20 against Phoenix. Heh.

Re: OFFICIAL 2014 Around the NBA thread

Gerald Green for MIP?

Re: OFFICIAL 2014 Around the NBA thread

Rubio has turned into the Blazer/Knick version of Segio Rodriguez.

And he's apparently eying a max deal this summer.

Not even Kahn would do that now.

Some idiot GM will give him big money.

Did hurt feelings cause you to make those assumptions?

I'm not sure what compelled you to post on a Blazer forum that a Blazer poster is insecure and pathetic for being happy about a GS loss. You're a GS fan, posting on a Blazer forum. Insecure? Pathetic? Lonely? Are these really necessary or prudent observations that have anything to do with basketball that I should be making about you personally as well? I'm relatively new to the forum, so maybe I'm obligated to call people these things when they disagree with my opinion. IDK. You're a "global moderator" so clearly that must be the case. #TeachingMoment

Re: OFFICIAL 2014 Around the NBA thread

Rubio with 7 points tonight vs Phx. Love had 2 points the entire 4th quarter (shot 4-20 for the game). 1 point loss to Phx in Minn. Brutal.

Channing Frye went for 22 pts 5-10 from 3.

It just blows my mind how "experts" keep saying how Minnesota is a top playoff team. They're gonna make a push, they're gonna come around... And then the Blazers who already have proven they can win are the opposite, waiting for them to crash. It's so crazy.

Re: OFFICIAL 2014 Around the NBA thread

Minnesota is about to fall apart. Love made some digs at the bench

WOAH! Need the info! lol This is great news. It's totally the bench's fault that Love shot 4-20, and Rubio can't score.

The bench went 10-18 shooting. Love is such a prima donna.

On paper they're a really good team.

Love
Pek
Rubio
Kevin Martin

They should be a lot better than they are, but Love is not a leader and Rubio is too one-dimensional. We don't have a single one-dimensional player in our starting five.

More on his timeline

Re: OFFICIAL 2014 Around the NBA thread

The previous 10 games with this Blazer team is what Rubes have put up with ALL season.

The curse of Kahn.

Re: OFFICIAL 2014 Around the NBA thread

Who is even under the cap right now?

Just admit when you're wrong. You fucked up the amnesty provision, and how it applies. There is a 7 day window in July during which a player can be amnestied. Chicago would be foolish to waive Boozer at this point, simply because they can clear his cap space for next year if they wait to amnesty him.

The caveat is if they can sucker a team into taking on Boozer and his big contract for next year, and replacing that with expiring contracts. I don't see how that happens, but that never seems to matter on this board when discussing player moves.

I was wrong.

That post is days old...... :dunno:

None of those guys are even close to being decent NBA defensive players, and only Kevin Martin can create his own shot. They're a .500 team on paper, IMO, and Love has been selfish since his comments about making the All-Star game in LA, and how much it meant to him.

Re: OFFICIAL 2014 Around the NBA thread

Montiejunas is available. Should we go after him? I think he'll be good.

Re: OFFICIAL 2014 Around the NBA thread

"We all need to be in this together," Love said. "That kind of (ticks) me off. We're supposed to be a team."

Love didn't call out either veteran by name, but the body language for Barea and Cunningham in the fourth made them easily identifiable.

"If and when I did that last year when maybe I didn't sit out for the game for all 48 minutes and so on and so forth, they would have killed me," Love said, referring to him missing many games last year with a broken hand. "They would've aired me out. That's tough. It's two guys that we expect more from them. I think they expect more from themselves."

There was more but I don't feel like going through Twitter to find it all.

The curse of Kahn.

This is a wildly inaccurate statement, as Portland is .500 over the last 10 games. But I understand your point.

2013 - .378
2012 - .394
2011 - .207
2010 - .183

GM David Kahn thought Ricky Rubio and Jonny Flynn reminded him of Walt Frazier and Earl Monroe.

Fun fact: Kahn was born to a Jewish family in Portland Oregon, and was a sports writer for The Oregonian from '83-89.
