Pau, or I'd like to make a run at ZBO. I know some people wouldn't be thrilled about having him back, but he has grown up a lot and he can still play. He'd be great on this team.
At the deadline I suggested we make a Leonard for Randolph trade. Still think it would have been a great swap for both teams. Would love his scoring off the bench. I'd take him for cap space this off season, but wouldn't trade actual pieces like vonleh

At the trade deadline I suggested a Leonard for Pau Gasol swap. Think he'd have helped in the playoffs?

If we resign all of our guys how much cap does that leave us with...

Cap is expected to increase by $22M. Before the Verajao trade, we were ~$14M under the minimum salary of $63M. Cap was $70M. Rough estimate is $22M + 70M - $63M + $14M- $2M (Verajao stretch) - difference between Roberts and Frazier salaries. About $41M.

That's as if everyone signs for the same amount as this season. Guys get raises if they're already signed. It might take a decent bump to re-sign Hendo. And it's almost certain that Crabbe gets a huge raise - maybe $10M.

All that said, maybe $24M-$30M.

2016-17 cap is 89 million

Our payroll before resigning/signing anyone is about 41 million

It would not be easy or even doable to resign all our guys plus a big name free agent...

The only to free agents I'm not completely sold on resigning are of course Kaman because well duh and Meyers

We need to resign both Crabbe and Harkless, quickly before teams try to sign them to expensive offer sheets

Henderson - he fits well here...hard to let him go

We could sign and trade Hendo and Meyers for a better player

Then sign a big name and some MLES

A lot to think about

Most of our free agents are RFA, so we can sign someone and then sign or match them as well. Crabbe, specifically, has a very low cap hold. It's doable, but we'd have to renounce Hendo and Meyers.

I was thinking between 7-8 for Crabbe

65 million leaves us 24 million enough to sign a big name and an MLE

Forgot we were still paying for varajao...at leasts it's a stretch

Crabbe is going to get more than 8 million a year.

Looking at the salaries at basketball-reference.com, my estimate is really close.

If we wait other teams can throw a large offer sheet on the table and screw us...there will be sharks in the water for Crabbe and Harkless, maybe Meyers

We can wait BECAUSE they're restricted. You think their agents are going to snap up the first offer we give them? They're going to want to wait and see what the market offers after guys like Durant are snatched up.

Dame gets a $17M bump in salary. Obviously, the salaries are going to be significantly higher next season, if we keep everyone.

This is our last chance at a free agent because Dame kicks in and then next year CJ will kick in.

Yeah yeah yeah

Yeah yeah yeah

Wait and see.

Crabbe will get $11 million per year at the minimum.

Harkless might be in that 7-8 million range. I hope.

Meyers.... I honestly don't know, but I could see a team throwing some kind of stupid offer at him.

If I'm OKC, I'm getting revenge for the Kanter deal last year. I would make a huge offer to Crabbe at 12:01. We can't wait, because the clock to match starts ticking right away.

If it's a $14M/year offer and we match, we immediately lose $14M in cap space.

Sign Durant( seriously we have to steal him from the Warriors, because nobody will beat them for the next 6-7 years)

Resign Crabbe, Resign Harkless, Resign Hendo

Renounce Meyers Leonard

Sign Jan Vasely of Bismack Biyombo

Eh, we can agree in principle during the start of free agency with a big name guy. Contracts can't be signed right away, which would prevent OKC from doing something like that.

We gotta give a handsome first offer so Crabbe signs immediatly

Can't sign Durant AND Hendo. Would have to release Hendo. His cap hold is too much.

Why? Why would you give a big offer to the guy with the smallest cap hold? He's the reason why we can make a big offer to a free agent and still retain a young free agent. His cap hold is a few hundred thousand dollars.

Ok then

So, they renounce Durant at 12:01? They have $70 mil without Durant caphold on the books for next year. Durant is making $20 mil this year, so I assume his cap hold is a bit more, so that's $90+.

But, you also said

I don't think we have to worry about OKC giving a big offer to Crabbe, or anyone else - they're kinda stuck.

Dwight Howard is speaking from the heart live on TNT and he sounds a lot like Lillard to me...hmmm

Don't pay Crabbe a cent over 9 mil. There are replacement like Courtney Lee, Dellavedova, Sefolosha, Crawford, Bayless and Eric Gordon that are UFAs. Many more that have player options as well. The market for a backup SGs is deep.

Harkless and Hendo are pretty meh in my book. Both can be replaced if they get any sort of offer like Afflalo got.

My sleeper pick: Ish Smith. We could really use a backup PG that will keep the pressure on the opposing team when Lillard is on the bench.

What about McCollum? He have 1 more year contract. We cant lose him, he have one of the best bright future in the league

Its not about paying crabbe 9, 10, 11 million. Can you sign a player of his caliber for 3 million? Thats about what his cap hold will be. Who cares if we sign him to a deal that takes us over the cap after we have spent what we do have. Three year deal, for a 23 yr old. He will be an expiring in a couple years if he doesnt pan out.
