Well, a lot of people are pretty gung-ho about Collins, and he's finally picking up a little steam. At the end of the year we've got games against Dallas, Memphis (2), Clippers, San Antonio, and Houston, all of which may be resting players for the playoffs or tanking. So there could be some easy wins in those last 2 weeks. I had us at 53 wins, and it's still possible.

After 62 games into the schedule the Blazers currently sit 36-26, 10 games above .500 and 3rd Place in the Western Conference. However, there is a backlog hot on our heals. With 20 games remaining, the Blazers will likely need to win 13-15 games to keep this 3 seed spot. If we could go 14-6 the rest of the way, we would finish the season with 50 wins. This will be a tough feat, but by no means unattainable.

Fun stat that kind of belongs here:

When Lillard is a +2 or better during his shifts in the game, the Blazers are 31-3. He doesn't have to dominate, we just do a bit better than the opponent while he's in the game. If he's a +9 or better, we're undefeated (20-0).

Much more importantly—and this speaks to Lillard's game management and "intangible" leadership—is that there is no strong positive correlation between any of his individual performance stats and wins. FGM, FGA, 3PM, 3pA, FG%, 3P%, even AST or FT% (did you know he's got 30 games of 100% FT?)... none of it gives us a strong positive correlation to wins like simple "when he's on the court we do better" leadership.

I originally predicted 55 wins over on O=Live (Boo, hiss, hiss). I must have thought they'd be playing all season like they are now. Well, they didn't play like they are now for a long time so I'm going to have to admit that whoever predicted 50 wins is probably going to be pretty close to the actual number.

After 49 games into the schedule the Blazers currently sit 27-22, 7th Place in the Western Conference and only 4 games behind Minn for 4th place.
Looking at the remaining schedule it is reasonable to say they will be sitting close to 5-7 games over at the end, just like they are now, which puts us at about 47-49 wins. What many people would cal purgatory, but what I call one solid player away from being a 50 win team.
