Sign Kennard.

Scoot/VanVleet
Sharpe/KCP/Harris
Tou/Kennard/Murray/rookie
Deni/Smith Jr
Ayton/Clingan

I want to start off by saying this is just part of it cause I am stuck trying to figure out how to find a trade for Thybulle , Grant and Williams -- I feel like at least one of them have to go too

Trade #1
- Blazers trade : Scoot / Ayton and Kris Murray and Swap this years draft spots - Blazers move to #13 - ATL to #11 plus 28" 1st round pick (T3 Protected) and 31" pick swap - ATL choice

- Hawks Trade : Trae Young and Vit Krejci (PG)

Trade #2
- Portland Trade - Ant and Reath

- Magic Trade - KCPope - Harris and Corey Joseph ( Vet PG behind Trae Young ) and #26 25' Draft

Will fill in who to take with picks once i figure out rest so consider this a work in progress -- LOL

also Nate I like the Orlando deal and on this one thing we do think alike cause that was a deal I have in mind or was considering

Chris I think if we're sending out #11 then I would 100% want their #16 pick back.

Me too. I think it's more likely they do the deal for 25. But yeah, 16 would be great.

Trade anybody you can for the best picks you can get. Excluding Scoot, Deni, Sharpe, Camara, and Clingan.

*Edit* I'd also try to keep Matisse Thybulle unless he had to be included to bring back a first rounder.

Without specifics, and trying to keep it realistic, send Ant out to Orlando makes sense. Getting ROLE PLAYING vets back is huge, as well as another pick.

I don’t think we’ll be able to move Ayton, but that shouldn’t stop us from moving him to Cleveland for a package that includes Allen. Like others have said, Clingan, Camara, Avdija, Scoot and Sharpe should just be given the ball.

Yeah getting a pick for Ant makes sense - I can't see us giving up #11 to dump him though.

Ayton I'd love to see moved. I don't think he'll be any teams first option this off-season. But if for example the Lakers strike out on other moves maybe they would like to flip their worthless contracts for him. Or maybe Chicago moves on from Vucevic, etc. I could see some team wanting to kick the tires on him with his expiring deal. We're not getting a good player or pick back but just could get someone less entitled to shots/minutes/touches/etc. Probably more likely at the deadline though.

The more playoffs I watch the more convinced I am that Ayton offensively would be a nice player to have in playoffs. Mid range pick and pops are a great option with teams focused on 3’s and clogging the middle. Iq Ali think Sharpe could potentially be really good since he’s so effective getting mid range shots

Funny but I've come to the opposite conclusion - it's critical to have two way players that can defend. Ayton is about as bad of a defensive center as there is. Hence an unpolished rookie destroyed him in on/off numbers and even Jabari Walker as a tiny scrub center was better.

How about we just keep it real simple.

Lets try to win this year. Maybe work on getting a decent role player with the pick. I don't care if that is by using the pick or trading it with another player(s) but add a decent 3 and D guy.

Yeah I think with the team for sale the Blazers will be conservative with moves. I don't think we'd give up two picks for a Deni level player this summer.

Judging by their time on the floor, Ant, Grant and Ayton don’t help us win

The players I listed should absolutely be doing everything they can to win. With as many other players traded for picks (or good young 1st-3rd year players) as possible.

Blazer record was 36-46 (.439).

Portland was 8-4 (.667) without Simons. They were 28-70 (.400) with him

They were 17-23 (.425) with Ayton; 19-23 (.452) without him.

Blazers were 14-21 (.400) without Grant. They were 22-25 (.468) with him

as bad as Grant was this season, his 2-way skills had a better impact than Simons or Ayton

That checks out

Then simply trade them for ways to make the team better.
If it's so simple why didn't that happen in the last two years?

Instead we've pushed this AytonGrantAnt big 3 and benched Scoot/Sharpe/Deni.

I mean it seems simple to me that those guys shouldn't be on this team but that was the simple truth for years. So I'll believe their gone when their actually gone.

You get it.

I’m targeting grizzled/productive vets to add to the bench.

I’m targeting FA Steven Adams and ditching RW3
Yeah Id be for adding Adams - especially if we can ditch Ayton somehow.

Timelord is an independent action IMO. If we get a deal for him sure that's fine. If not then he can be a 3rd center it doesn't really hurt having him on the roster. Most likely he will be hurt, in which case he isn't taking anyone's role/minutes.

If we have 3 centers don't need to keep Duop unguaranteed contract.

#1 - You try to Extend Tou for up to $2om a year
#2 - You try to Extend Shae for a Simons like deal, if it does not work, you let him go to RFA and remove him from the "do not trade list"
#3 - See if you can find a Grant trade that removes money earlier - just so you have the money to sign Deni when he is extension eligible
#4 - Find out if DA is willing to sign an extension at around $20m/years - as a DA / DC center rotation at a reasonable price covers a lot of skills for a C rotation (*Also, he and Deni seem to real gel together - so if you are thinking of Deni as a cornerstone, having him for a more reasonable salary could pay dividends)

Alternatively, look and see if you can make a Dallas trade around Ant Simons for one of their mobile centers, something like Simons + Reath for Washington + Gafford

Whatever you do with the vets, you have to be careful of taking back long term salary unless it is for real stud potential (like Deni was) or picks.

I was good with your post until this. Please GOD NO on an Ayton extension. He's more overrated than Whiteside was. Everyone here posted how Whiteside would get some 20 million deal after playing for us, but he signed for the vet minimum then was out of the league.

Ayton is one of if not solely the least enjoyable Blazer centers to ever watch on a basketball court. Don't take my word for it - listen to Greg Oden and Channing Frye rip him apart.

If Ayton walks... Good! I'd rather start Walker or Duop or anybody than that lack of effort wimp.

DA for near Max is not worth it, DA as a slightly over the MLE to be a 2nd in the rotation behind DC - probably is.

Just to give you a reference, DA this year averaged 14/10, Isaiah Hatenstein averaged 11/10 and costs $30m per year.

DA for his current salary is not worth it. DA for $20m a year with a guy he likes to play with for $20m/ y and 20-24 mpg - is the going rate for a center that has good mobility and can be a lob threat / mid-range threat.
