Colby is a scumbag and no one ever knows when he's trolling or being himself. Maybe someone on here knows him because he's from Springfield Oregon. Just an absolute asshole and really pathetic because he recants and doesn't other cowardly shit when confronted about his asinine nonsense.

These LeBron ideas where he goes to a poor defensive team makes zero sense.

I could see LeBron going elsewhere in a trade this season, but it should be Houston, Golden State, Orlando, etc type of team that has lots of defenders.

LeBron is legit the worst defender in the NBA statistically right now which makes sense as a 40 year old. A team like the Kings that have great offense and horrible defense make zero sense.

If I were running the Lakers I do that type of trade and also trade Anothony Davis. They could get a big haul of assets and rebuild in 2 years. Even if the Lakers pull of a couple trades they have zero chance at a title this season, Jerami Grant type of players are not moving that needle. Not sure they will be able to go forward with such a move but it makes way more sense if they want to build to a title.

That was such a BS call. Absolutely ridiculous.
But why did GP2 pass the ball, risky pass? Shouldn't he have held onto the ball or called a TO?

Fred Van Vleet should have been called for any foul called on the possession, completely extending his arm pushing off Payton, then putting his hand into Payton's back with no play on the ball.
Kind of feels like the fix was in.

If it was PDX or Sac or something losing then sure.

Theres no way the league wants to keep the most popular team of the last decade out of the playin.

Yeah the NBA probably wanted the Knicks Warriors to both win yesterday and drive ratings.

Long term I think the cup is very good for the NBA, and good that many different teams make it. It won't be like the finals where LeBron goes 7 years straight as single elimination will just have much higher variance. There will certainly be years there are multiple big markets. Maybe they'll move the quarterfinals to Vegas as well (8 teams)

I don't understand any of the naysayers who are against the cup. I can see if you are indifferent and just think of them as regular season games. But to actually be against it and think its bad makes no sense to me.

The cup is 100x better than all star weekend or other completely irrelevant fluff like that. At the least its competitive basketball.

I would not be referring to the league. I wasn't serious either. The call was so bad it felt like the fix was in.

This shit won’t last 2 more years.
Why not? It costs nothing extra to do since their all regular season games and the TV ratings are higher. It might not yet be a home run that the NBA was hoping for but there's zero downside.

People said all the same things about the playin and now it's here to stay.

There did seem to be some extra excitement in the quarterfinal games yesterday.

I think the tournament would mean a lot more if they attached a guaranteed play-in spot to the winner. I would suggest the 8th or 9th seed. That would also give the play-in more meaning too.

That could really help a talented team that suffers a string of injuries (or just stinks) that gets its act together when the playoffs starts.

You could even give the runner-up in the tournament the 10th playoff seed in their conference.

(Of course if the winner of the tournament exceeds the 8th/9th seed in their conference they would get that higher seed.)

Was thinking about this coach Daniel video while watching the new Thinking Basketball video so when Ben mentions that the St. Joseph's coach is now on the Grizzlies staff...it was a pretty cool full circle moment.

Like St. Joseph's, the Grizzlies had been one of the least efficient pick and roll teams the last few years before this change in philosophy.

I still can’t believe Danny Ainge trade Markell Fultz (#1 pick) for Jayson Tatum (#3 pick) AND Derrick White on draft day.

Dude just plays chess. He’ll have the Jazz a contender in no time.

That would be an amazing trade.

It didn't happen though.

Boston traded with the 6ers for Tatum and got White later from the Spurs.
