Somehow Cronin managed to not just hand out a horrible contract to Nurk that yes is a negative contract,

But then he was able to find about the only center on an even worse contract to bring to Portland in Nurks place.

Scary thing is Nurk might only be the 5th worst contract Cronin has signed/acquired. Cronin has only completed 2 full seasons start to finish as the Blazers GM - so I shudder to think what this franchise could look like after a decade.

Only in Portland do fans assume a losing GM will last a decade. That's why I got so much resistance for many years, convincing people to replace Olshey.

When I followed the Lakers and then Sonics, the GM was there...for the time being...as long as he did well.
