And then there's the whole matter of whether Cronin is even entertaining the thought of a buyout big given their apparent new tack. I have my doubts.

I don't think either Dallas or Sacremento is as short on bigs as Portland; seems as if the opportunity to play would be here.

Maybe. It’s a pick swap and Pels are dropping fast too. They may fall lower than Lakers and keep their own pick. We’ll see. Btw- anyone notice how bad CJ has been playing lately?

I would be shocked if they cut Ryan A. With Ant out , if Dame missed any time you would then have Keon starting at point and who would be the back up point? I could have seen him being cut before the Ant injury but no way now. I would think it would be Knox if they were cutting someone.

He certainly played better the 26 games he played for them last year. His numbers this year are way down. Pretty much across the board.
Funny thing is they resemble the numbers he had here last year for the 36 games he played for Portland.
 
I find it funny they have Keon on the roster then they gave the new PG all that run so IF the Blazers sign someone for the stretch run / playoffs it's kind of says that Keon is expendable in the offseason via thrown into a trade if they cannot even give him run at the point over a scrub PG. IF they sign someone it will be the new PG over Knox cause you have Little who finds a way to get injured plus he is some size so he is safe til he is gone in the offseason.

if Dame is out...the tank will be fully engaged. Be better to have nobody to run the offense...let Thybulle do it

Yeah, maybe. I don't really care if it's Knox or Ryan—either of those two are less important than shoring up the paint—IF this team is actually serious about trying to win basketball games this season. I have serious doubts.

CJ will have rest advantage on Dame tomorrow night. Here's hoping tonight's game is a blowout win for the Thyland Reddish Blazers.
 
Vanderbilt Has really been a great addition for the Lakers. Too bad Trader Joe couldn’t land him.
 
Reports say KAT may be available this summer, if we make the playoffs and our pick finally conveys to Chi, what would you guys realistically offer for Towns?

He's extremely talented, but I just don't feel like he's a winning basketball player. And for that reason, I'm out.

I would like him. Look what Wiggins did in a different environment. KAT is a lot more talented than Wiggins.

Availability and mental temperament are really valuable NBA skills.

until the covid season, he missed a total of 5 games in 4 seasons. dude played all 82 in 3 of his first 4 seasons. and his injuries have been mostly fluky and not on his lower extremities.

what's wrong with his temperament? he seems like he would really flourish as the #2 next to Dame.

if he's available, i'd push all our non Dame/Sharpe chips in.

Nurk + Ant for KAT works. I'd start there.

I would as well. Worth the gamble.

Dame, Sharpe, MT, Grant and KAT is a dangerous dangerous group.

you will probably need a 3rd team, I don't think Minni is ready for an Ant x2 back-court.

Works for the Blazers maybe. Why the heck would Minnesota consider that? You think they would be excited about paying Nurkic to backup Gobert?

Ya a third team sending back picks and a wing would be necessary.

I just think KAT is the kimda gamble we need to make.

Agreed. I don’t understand. Why would someone want help for Dame but wouldn’t want KAT???
 
Well if we make the playoffs we would then be able to trade future 1s right? I think Ant/Nas/Nurk/2 1s might work with a 3rd team involved. I’d make that trade too. Maybe that NY pick and our pick the following year?

Not nearly enough to get a KAT level player. I think you are Sharpe and a 1st or 2 short in value based on recent star trades.
